When I saw detroitmi was posting on this thread, I knew this was coming, as I had read his first two posts offering the usual jailhouse legal advice.

It is common for the TSA to run your shoes through the x-ray as part of the secondary search. Many minor airports still require you to submit your shoes for x-ray regardless of national threat level - even your flipflops.

On the other hand, it is not likely you will find a restroom outside the secure area in an airport - and certainly never in the vicinity of the Security Check Point.

Detroit, the TSA is looking for your bud, since nobody seems to bring bombs to the airport and your bud is the best measure to demonstrate the level of screening that the TSA is performing.

Your advice is like your punctuation, spelling and grammar. Really Bad.

I would also have to agree with Mr. Bart Simpson.

Would putting your weed in a hollowed out dildo or something work? If not, would you be able to stick your weed in a female dog's ass or something like that so that when a drug dog comes and smells it the cops would just be like whatever?

I travel through airports daily and these sniffers (ATL, NWK, JFK, LAX, SFO . . . need more examples) are not an issue for domestic travel. Please do not use histerical tactics to express your opinion. My guess is you have not flown anywhere.

Yes, if the TSA discovers your weed you will be cited, but it is not the primary focus of their efforts. That said, new technology is on the horizon that will use body temperature and x-ray technology, instead of magnometers, that will identify the baggie in your underwear.

Bart, or anyone else, two weeks ago I was flying out of Fort Lauderdale, and I encountered a seacurity device I had never seen. At the point where you have your carry on bags xrayed and you go through a checkpoint which is usually just a metal detector, they made all of us stand one by one inside this platform about the size of a small phone booth, and a gust of wind blew up from the bottom and surrounded me for a few seconds. Anyone know what this is and what it may mean for carrying weed on your person?

Thats the sniffer I was referring to - there is a link in this monster thread to the manufacturer's website (posted by NS if I remember correctly). I can't search for it at the moment, but I'll try and find it later and bump it up here.

The devices can be programmed to detect MJ, but are not currently configured as such in domestic airline travel.
