Is it harder for the K9 dogs to find your pipe/bubbler? It has residue but no fresh MJ around it.

Would my chances still be slim if I'd put a bubbler in a plastic bag, seal it, wash hands, super carefully put all that in another plastic bag (so no particles get outside), and then another one and then wrap it in underwear and another bag (where I keep underwear)?

Narcotics detector dogs are trained to sniff out any residue of fresh marijuana. Considering how much fresh pot has come in contact with a pipe, I think it's safe to say they would smell it out pretty easily. They would smell both the smoky residue, and the remains of the green. The latter would, of course, result in an alert.

If you are hell bent on transporting a piece, the best way would be to use latex gloves and seal it multiple times. Then, wash the package with an alcohol or soap solution (after discarding the dirty gloves) immediately before transporting it.

The thing is, the smell will eventually diffuse through all the layers of packing you put around it. So, it is important to transport it immediately. There have been many cases of pot being concealed inside a gas tank full of gasoline. The smell, over time, will diffuse through most any container. This is a chemical process which takes time. A drug dog will not alert on a freshly sealed package so long as there is no exterior residue.

The unfortunate problem is that there is no way to test to see how long it will take for the smell to move through the packaging.

Be super careful about everything that comes in contact with each layer of wrapping. Of course the best advice is to only take a joint you can swallow, but that's regardless of the question.

Clean it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and salt. Do it again. Now it doesn't have any residue for the dog to smell.

clean it well and fedex it, i know someone who has fresh hash fedexed from hawaii twice a month and have never been caught or had their shipment confiscated
