you can be a hell of a lot more sure there are more than 3 cops here weather you know they are here or not. there are hundreds if not thousands of cops that probebly come here and look at everything here.

And I would assume the cops that join MJ.com Anonymouslyare here looking for people trying to sell bud over the internet and tracking down everybody's IP address at the grow room page/ site or what ever it's called.

i really doubt there is anywhere near that many cops on this site alone. although, there is no doubt in my mind that plenty of cops come here with out registering.

I highly doubt cops come here to spy on us... Most of them probably don't even know what forums or message boards are. Plus Marijuana.com is a pro-weed site so most cops wouldn't even bother with it. Also, if authorities are watching us, it wouldn't be cops, it would be DEA or FBI.

saying there aren't that many cops here is like saying there aren't that many plumbers here. police officer is just a job, like any other, except that it makes you a member of the executive branch of the government, and a visible icon of establishment authority.

but this is all off topic. all i wanna know is if the LEOs that post here are open about it with their superiors. and why they do it. it seems, and this is an observation not a snipe, that a LEO that would be doing so for the satisfaction that comes from being a voice of authority. i would support this supposition by mentioning that many cops become cops for the same reason, and that when the LEOs here are contradicted or insulted they tend to respond in a derogatory or condescending manner. not that there's anything wrong with that: who wouldn't?

my real curiousity is just to the rest of the cops, these 'LEOs in good standings' coworkers, and what they think of their partners in un-crime's internet activities, if they know about them.

(edit -->) in response to highallthetime's post, i would have a similar opinion. not that cops are neccesarilly technology illiterate, but in a similar fashion, wouldn't it be a waste of their time? what could they learn from here? the only stuff they would really learn would be stuff most of us are too intelligent or prudent to post: stash and buying methods. it is important, of course, to remember that anything you post on the net is there for anyone to read, and anyone with your IP knows your location irrelevent of what you write in that box in your profile.

First of all, police officers are not part of the executive branch, really don't know where that one came from...

Secondly, I have a couple of friends who just became cops, and trust me, they're not technically illiterate. One of them used to be a regular toking buddy of mine, but he quit, one month before he went in for his interview. And I can guarantee that he won't be coming down harsh on too many pot smokers.

As for this being a waste of time, I doubt that. I used to be a "militant atheist"; I was heavily into the whole creation/evolution debate, and I regularly went to christian boards to debate, and to figure out exactly where they were coming from. I also check out the cop forums every now and then, and I'm sure as hell not a cop, nor do I have coply aspirations.

So yeah, there probably are cops out here we don't know of. I doubt that they're attempting to track us down, cause, wow, just maybe you'll catch on to the Larmtech Pot Distribution Coalition.

What I'm getting at is that it would be quite a waste of their time to track us down. We're all small time here, average people who just happen to toke. The people they're after don't care too much about the culture and whatnot, except for the financial aspect of it.

So any cops out there lurking, come on and show yourself, you'll probably learn a lot more by letting your presence be known.
