| I just ordered some eeds from WWS yesterday and today my credit card company called to verify that I was the one who used the card. Should I be worried? I thought that they might have called because the charge was international, but I don't know. Any tips or advice you could give me would be great. Thanks ![]() |

| Basically by now you have no reason to be worried, if you are going to get caught, your going to get caught, it's too late to worry now. I guess you should have just asked a friend for some seeds, although I know you get a much wider selection online. ![]() |

| Don't worry about it. Most likely, the company was calling because the charge was overseas, while you had recently used the card close to home. The fraud detection programs look for behavior like that, because they indicate that two people may be using the card at the same time. The classic wisdom I have read elsewhere on the site is, when the envelope comes, don't open it for a awhile (a week), and don't grow at the address to which it was sent. A bigger issue is this. I have heard that the DEA buys tapes with credit card data from the credit card processors, and searches for CC transactions with suspicious companies. That may generate a hit on your ID. I suspect that your risk is low, but I would have used cash. However, if you were contemplating something that is measured in the 1,000's of watts, I wouldn't for at least six months. |

| Like fishman said, it was probably the fraud claims department. You should consider yourself lucky, at least your credit card company is looking out for fraudulent claims; many would just let you sort that out. I used to work at hotels in the summer, one with a huge number of international clients. At least once every two days I'd be on the phone to a credit card company to get authorization to pre-auth a foreigner's card. Many won't allow any out of country charges without prior approval, and most of the card-holders didn't even know that this was their policy.
