I have known several people who refused the search, and they had the dog there in minutes while they were sitting in the back of the cruiser. It's never a good idea, in my opinion, to roll with herb on you or to drive right after you've burnt a joint. Why take the chance?

Here's another scenario I have seen.......A friend of mine was hit at a stop light by another guy. Nothing serious, but the police were called to fill out an accident report to settle the insurance. The first officer asked him if he was taking any medication that might cause him to be less than a good driver, even though he wasn't at fault. The officer then came right out with, "I know your high, which I can prove with a urine screen. If you have anything illegal in the car ya better go get it and bring it to me or it will be worse on you."

My friend refused and then said, " I don't consent to a search, either." He was put in the back of the patrol car, and within minutes the dog was there and found his stash and and his papers. Then they took him to the station and pissed him and he also received a charge of OVI. He was charged with Possesion, Possesion of Paraphenalia and OVI. The next day when he went to court for his charges they had stuck him with an unsafe vehicle charge because his muffler was loud......

Counting his lawyer and the fines and tow bill and storage for his vehicle, he ended up spending about four thousand dollars, and he still was found guilty of the OVI and possesion of herb. They dropped the other charges and he had to go to a weekend drunk school, which cost him his job because he couldn't make it to work for three days. The place he worked requires you to call in every day, and he couldn't call because of his being at the weekend school.

He is currently on probation and had to quit smoking because he has to take a piss test every time he see's his probation officer. I have seen a lot of people get busted in cars, and it never makes sense to me why they would take the chance.............

As far as you being noble to take the wrap for your friend, honor doesn't take the heat for you, and it appears your "friend" wasn't as noble as you. Seems like you learned a good lesson from all this and hopefully you won't get in the same situation again...........

I don't know man. A drug charge of any kind will keep you from getting any kind of help from grants for students........

It's never a good idea to carry around a drug charge, even if it's just for herb. Make sure to be cool for awhile, and get that charge expunged........
