A quick question for the officers on the forum

I live in Canada but I'm sure it sorta will help answer my problem. If you hook a friend of a friend up with some weed and they get caught and rat you out-or if your caught with weed and asked who dealt it too you by the cops-is there a way you could be charged/detained for not giving out the info of where you got it or what to do if you get told on?

i think your asking if you can be charged for

a.) withholding information on your dealer
no you cannot be charged for this, although they may try to 'cut you a deal' if your in for some serious time, if you give up the dealer

b.) a customer of yours being caught and give you up

yes. you can be charged if they get a hold of you. and they will try.

the proper one is an because any word that starts with a vowel uses "an" rather than "a"

And i dont think you can get charged for not saying who your dealer is because whos to say you didnt find a bag of weed on the side of the street?

I think the more pertinent question here is, why the hell are you worried about this in Canada?

This is not the US man, people do not get a shake down for simple possession, unless you're carting around tractor trailers full of the stuff.

If you're dealing, you're not going to get charged if some guy rats you out, assuming you don't have a 1/4 pound broken down into dimes in your glove box. Accusations will only work in rape and murder, and even then, there has to be physical evidence that can be linked to you.

To all Canadians who may come across this: If for some extremely odd reason you do get posed with a question such as this, shut the hell up. You're going to get a slap on the wrist, and most likely nothing at all, so don't turn in your buddies.

Simple possession is virtually a non-issue in this country...
