Default Another probable cause ?

Was thinking of this the other day as I was traveling in my car.
If it has been covered in another thread, just link me to it and my apologies for the wasted bandwith.

First off, a couple of big what if's have to happen that never would, but here's the scenario:

Let's say I was driving someplace that I was spending the night, and I had my stash sitting in the seat next to me for later enjoyment.

If I were stopped for speeding or whatever and the police discovered my stash, which does not look like commercial weed but is freshly harvested homegrown, if the cop recognized the difference would that be probable cause to search my home for a grow op?

I wouldn't be worried about the stash, because in my state anything under an ounce is a misdemeanor ticket.
But would they be able to legally make the connection between the appearance of my stash and a search warrant for the house?

Just wondering,
Plains

Default THANKS FOR ALL PAST ADVICE SIR

Plains~

As an EX- LEO in TX, I can tell you that is NOT probable cause to get a warrant to search your home...period...under state law...even if you were idling your vehicle in front of your own residence.

There is no connection at all. Do not worry. You are totally safe...now if Janet Reno were to stop you....all bets are off....LOL!

I'd say probably 90% or more wouldn't know the difference between "commercial" and home grown and even fewer would really care.

It MAY not be PC in and of itself, but it wouldn't take too much else to get a warrant if the connection was made.

Thumbs up Thank you both very much...

As I said before, there would have to be a couple of huge brain farts for me to get in that position, but coming from a growing perspective added a different slant to it.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Be safe,
Plains

I highly doubt that they would search your home for possesion.. I don't see how they could tell the difference.
