So none of the LEOs here can tell me what the by-the-book procedure would be for busting someone even if they have been prescribed medical marijuana by a doctor, and have proof of that on hand?

Yetiman, I can't answer your question because there is no legal medicinal use in my state. So the conflict doesn't occur and the procedures aren't even there for me to know.

Listen, as sh***y as it sounds, there is NO legal, scientifically PROVEN medical necessity for using marijuana. None. The government refuses to accept their own reports that indicate marijuana would be appropriate in some cases, so even if you do possess a doctor's recommendation (which is really all they can give you, unless you happen to live in a state with medical marijuana laws and you actually have a doctor's prescription), the laws of the federal government surpass those of the states.
And even if you do have a doctor's prescription, you cannot obtain your medicine at a pharmacy. You have to go to a buyer's club or other establishment offering medical patients access to their medicine.

Which is why States' Rights is such an important issue right now. If we can get enough Congress people to support States' Rights, we can enable those that live in states that have already passed medical marijuana initiatives to use marijuana with a doctor's prescription without fear of federal arrest.

So, if you are confronted with LE for possession AND you have a prescription for mmj., you will STILL get busted, and they will most likely confiscate your paraphernalia as well.

I'm a registered voter. I'm doing my best to get EVERYONE to register to vote as soon as they become eligible. I recommend that EVERYONE review the candidates' platforms, bills and amendments sponsored, and voting records BEFORE you vote. A fully informed vote is a well placed and effective vote.

For simplicity and affect, I further recommend that the "New Candidate" be voted in to office, and the "Old Candidate" be voted out, until we start to see some changes. And BE THERE ON ELECTION DAY or vote absentee prior to the election.

But above all, VOTE!

The Will of the People is greater than Federal Law.
