| Followup to "Busted in PA" - I got papers mailed to my parents about a month after being busted for a "personal amount" of marijuana. I'm a bit disgusted that they contacted my parents instead of coming to me directly, although they didn't care all that much. Anyways, my hearing took approximately 3 minutes total. It was almost a complete sham. I could tell the Judge didn't care whatsoever that I was a "law breaker". It was evident that I was wasting his time with this trivial case. My sentence was to pay a fine totaling $666 -- a very ironic number. I'm also on 'administrative probation', according to the wording on the court document, for a period of 30 days. My sentencing took place on April 7th of this year. Since then, I haven't had any contact whatsoever with any kind of probation officer. Does anybody know how this is supposed to work? Am I obligated to contact the probation office and see what's going on? I would really like to smoke, but I'm afraid of a surprise drug test. Could they come to my house?? Thanks for any help! |

| Don't you have a lawyer? Ask him/her. Why didn't you ask the judge what you should do after the court date? And don't smoke, for Christ's sake. It's only thirty days. |

| People on administrative probation typically aren't required to report to a P.O. or take urine tests - you pay your fines, stay out of trouble, and let the time run out and you're all set. However, you should definitly run the question by your lawyer in case there are variables in your case which I am not aware of.
