| You won't be charged w mere possession let's put it that way. Ex LEO here. And some states are stopping anybody and making up reasons esp if you have an out of state tag and look "fishy." Look like you own the road and dress for business and obey the traffic laws and drive something other than a low rider and you shouldn't have a problem...LOL> ![]()

| Is it considered smuggling if you carry marijuana from state to state? It really depends on the amount. If most officers catch someone with 5 grams (a misdemeanor in my state), we could give a damn what state it came from. If you get caught with 5 kilos, it's a different story. Also, contrary to popular notion, smuggling isn't really a state level crime in most places. It's the possession and intent to distribute (sell) that people get charged with. There isn't a specific statute against "smuggling". Which leaves you with a federal crime. Since most LEO's who stop you aren't going to be Federal officers, they can't charge you with the federal crime. If you run across one like me (cross sworn as a Customs Officer), it goes back to common sense, the amount and if it's worth it to even bother. And some states are stopping anybody and making up reasons esp if you have an out of state tag and look "fishy." How long have you been out of LE? That answer came straight out of the 80's (except for Louisiana).

| Damn! I live in NH and know people in Mass who get good prices on decent weed...Not to mention the majority of people on this board get **** for better prices than me. I get about an 8th plus one more gram of DECENT stuff for 50 bucks...I know people in Mass who can hook me up with pretty damn good stuff for the same price. Anyway, thanks for the answers. Would 1/2 oz. be enough considered a lot? Also, if I'm busted in Mass (MUCH lower punishments, not to mention I live on the line) I would be charged in Mass even though I'm 17 right? That probably sounds dumb but I don't know much about the law. |

| I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a half would be situtational. Would it be bagged seperately? Are there any other paraphanalia items around, like a scale? Stuff like that matters...

| Bagged seperately? I assume you mean broken down like maybe a gram in each bag or something right? No it wouldn't. No paraphernelia (sp) would be around. Just a half of weed. There might be one of those vacuum sealers in the car if I can get mine out of the house without anyone noticing. I dunno if that would give them hints or anything but I thought I'd say it. Also - what's a good way to hide it in a car? |

| Yeah,it's good to be cautious. But really,Mighty, what's the chance that your gonna get caught if you dont drive like an ass,hop over the border, grab a bag and go back. I live in massachusetts, few miles south of boston. Hop right back on the highway when you're done. I remember reading somebody on here put their weed in the emergency box in the trunk, that has flares and **** in it. The cop supposedly searched everything except that |

| Thanks needles...that's a good idea. About the chance thing - I live in a small town and since I've gotten my license (June 7th) I've been "routinely stopped" eight times. I know that in cities the cops have more important things to do though so I suppose you're right. |
