Smoke Rings

Tonight, i was just finished smoking a bong with some friends and chillin to a movie, when theres a knock on the basement window and my friend tells me the cops are after him and they clubbed him. He came inside and explained to me he was down at the park with some friends drinking and playing b-ball. Suddenly, police arive, so they hide thier weed and dump there off topic drinks when the polkice confront them about drinking, and the cop ask thier names, even tho they know damn well who my friend was, because when my friend said a fake name, the cop pulled out his nightstick and bashed him across the jaw while saying "wrong answer <FRIEND'S FIRST AND LAST NAME>

So, in my kitchen, we cleaned the blood out of his mouth and his jaw appears to be an inch or so to one side.

So heres my question. He definatly wants to sue the police department, but he was drinking and smoking, and the officers likely knew it. still, i would hope that wouldnt block out the fact that a police officer clubbed a 16 year old kid without cause.

Have him file a complaint with the department's Internal Affairs division. Unfortunately for police officers, they have fewer "rights" than citizens and can be forced to take a polygraph by the department, the results of which can and WILL be used to fire him.

Of course if the officer passes and your friend refuses to also take one or fails it, he is up s*** creek for filing a false report.

If everything you said is true, I would definitely press charges on that officer. But like CAT33 said, filing a flase report isnt worth your time. Oh, and the drinking and smoking part will pretty defininitely be over looked if you press charges, that is no reason for assualt with a deadly weapon.

If it happened that way, the cop should be criminally charged.

Due take note of one thing CATT33 said......... IF, I said IF, this is not 100% true, tell himnot to make the accusation because he can and probably will be criminally charged himself and possibly sued in the process.

But if it is true, absolutely report it.

thanks for the advice. yeah im going to talk to him and tell him he should press charges but first make sure the story is 100% correct

while he was at this park he got in a fight and came by my house and just to be stupid he made up that story. KNowing the cops around here i belived him. mods you might as well close this stupid thread...
