imo the legalization movement can take almost an insignificant hit if it means helping my life out in a big way.

Not with that attitude it won't. The key to legalization is to get an overwhelming amount of the population (I'd say maybe upwards of 75-80% or so) to comprehend marijuana is not the devil-drug it's commonly made out to be. This will put some much needed pressure on the politicians to begin mapping out legalization strategies. But when marijuana smokers hold philosophies like this:

it is a collective detriment to all of you, because it only serves to reinforce falsified and grossly exaggerated statements perpetuated by opponents of legalization.

When it comes to people who don't have any experience with marijuana forming an opinion on its legality, would you rather they be presented with facts and objective studies, or with a sob story about how "you got addicted to marijuana and it ruined your life"* so that you can avoid taking responsibility for your actions?


If YOU make a conscientious decision to commit a crime, don't try to weasel your way out of it at the expense of others if/when you are caught.


*refers only to persons who feign addiction in order to avoid criminal penalites, also known as "malingering."

sure we could talk about the possibilities of marijuana being legalized in the united states in the years to come, but i honestly dont see it happening. medical marijuana is a really big advancement as it is. and i dont see how if less the half of the states have medical marijuana, then the whole country would be legalized...not to mention driving under the influence. and my attitude doesnt affect what is going to happen, thats just how i see it. just not going to happen...

If you feel like that it isn't going to happen, but, if you get off your sorry arse and start to tell people what a wonderfull plant it is and how wrong it is to criminalized a God given plant, just because it makes you happy, while things that makes you violent like alchahol is legal. Stop moaning that it is never going to happen and start doing something about it. Think of it this way, if everyone just sayes "it is never going to happen.", then obviosly it won't, but if people start standing up for themselves for a fucking change, then we can make a HUGE difference, even if it doesn't mean it will get legalized, we must atleast try to get the stigma around it away. Once we get people to realize that it is a largely harmless plant like any other, and not a venus fly trap, then we will be that much stronger. And every person who thinks better of the plant makes a difference. My theory is that if we get enough "normal" people to beleave it is a great plant, it will have a snowball effect. The snowball effect has alredy started, it might not be apparent since there is many obsticles it it's way breaking it down (ei. propaganda), but over time, with effort, it will eventually become large enough to bowl down the government, and after the US has legalized it, the rest of the world should follow. I predict that it would be lagalized at 2012. Some people say that 2012 is the end of the world, but I say it is the end of the world as we know it. It would be the end of a world ruled my money and logic, and will become a world ruled by happyness and creativity. It would become the IMAGINATION. Viva la revolution!!!!!!!!!!

i do tell people that i like it and i think its stupid it is illegal. but that has nothing to do with whether i think it will be legalized or not...so im suposed to start doing something to make it legal in the u.s.? what have you done?

I donate annually to either NORML, MPP or the Drug Policy Alliance. If all potsmokers did, there might be a hope of legalization someday. When people sit around and point fingers and pretend tthat they are doing more than the next guy without actually doing anything at all, its a lost cause.

take it to trial you may win you may lose,but the dude has to show up in court and a good lawyer will rip him a new asshole,they may drop it once they see you are willing to waste as much money as they are and time once the dude knows fully that he has to face you in court he will do everything in his favor to get them to drop it and i would also ask about solicitation he asked you to get it so make sure he gets something out of this too
