A military lawyer would do me no good. I'm retired now

. I'm planning to write a couple senators. I don't know if it will help. However others vets are contacting their senators and congressman as well. I'm going to fight the good fight.

I can't really see how they could do random drug tests. For instance when I get out I'll be living at least two hours away from the nearest VA hospital, attending college full time, working the farm full time and possibly another job on the side, not to mention family duties that require my attention; that means that anything I'll do there will have to be planned well in advance by appointment.

I'm not going to just drop everything and drive more than two hours just because some doctor wants a sample of my piss, he's going to have to set up an appointment just like we do for everything else.

The only time I'm going to be driving to any hospital on a seconds notice would be a local one and then only for an emergency.

In short the only time I'm going to see any VA doctors will be by appointment.

there are requirements, to drug test or not to drug test is up to the state and part of the medical evaluation. they can't insure everyone unfortunately, and it makes complete sense to me that they would drug test. it's an insurance program -- social insurance at that. the states and people don't want to pay out more money to anyone who is a criminal, and unfortunately, until marijuana is legalized, that's what we all are. no one wants to insure anyone that is a risk to themselves, and in the insurance world -- that's exactly what a drug user is.

also, it's not random, obviously. he said it was part of his pain medication agreement. i'd be willing to bet he's not the only guy in michigan receiving these same benefits...

All they got to do is do like my bud. Thye call a local hospital and set up up there. You got like 8 hours to piss or you loose your meds

. It's really starting to suck through VA
