And troublemaker 42 was telling me that my opinion about cops was unjustified. Yeah, my experience with them comes from NYC and they are rotten and crooked out in the open in that city!

If I recall correctly, what troublemaker42 actually said was that the sweeping generalizations you make about entire clusters of people are completely innaccurate and off-base. I tend to agree with that sentiment.

However, it seems you haven't learned - because in this most recent post you made yet another foolish blanket statement. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely agree that what the select # of officers in this case are doing is lower than low, but grouping all the of cops who don't try to pull this crap in with the guilty ones is no better than the cops who narrow-mindedly assume that all marijuana users are useless scum because of a couple of bad experiences with them. Once you're able to stop being so close-minded, you'll realize that most cops aren't the 'john wayne,' super crime-fighter types you peg them to be.

I guess if every single NYPD cop admitted to being corrupted, you would still not agree with my generalization of NYPD cops...

Actually, I would.

If this ever actually were to occur and then you commented on it, you would be making a statement that is supported by undeniable, concrete evidence - it would be nothing short of childish and illogical for me to refuse to agree.

However, this is not the case, and it is astronomically unlikely that it ever will be. So please, MonarchX, until you can at least offer some reasonable backing for your incredibly exaggerated statements, please refrain from talking out of your ass.

Hey Monarch, what I actually said was basing your opinion of all cops based on your extremely limited interaction with a tiny porportion of them is ignorant, and I stand by that statement 100%. If you are going to quote me, at least get the info right. Don't put words in my mouth that I didn't say, or take what I've said completely out of context, please and thank you. I can't help the fact you seem to be so resistent to the truth in these types of matters. You argue my points constantly, yet offer little to no basis for your arguments. You argue because you can't stand the fact you might be wrong, even when presented with facts to the contrary.

Furthermore, other than the word of an anonymous Legal Aid provider, we don't know for a fact this is even happening. An accusation is far different than proof of misconduct, is it not? I'm sorry, but I find the evidence far from conclusive here, and as they say, there's two sides to every story. I'm not saying it DOESN'T happen either, buit quite frankly, we don't have enough info here to come to the conclusion that the article attempted to force upon us. Any sort of possible explanation by the NYPD was conviently omitted from the article. Last I knew, people were allowed to defend themselves before being found guilty. I realize this isn't a court of law, but the same standards should hold true....the accused should be allowed to testify on their own behalf. That would at least give the article SOME objectivity. As it stands now, we're given a limited amount of information and the conclusion is basically forced upon us, with no possible explanation other than the author's own conclusions given. Any story that only offers one point of view cannot be considered objective. Think critically here people...usually when only one side of the story is presented, the author has some sort of agenda. Don't take this report as the gospel truth with the limited info we have at our disposal. To do so would be rather foolish.
