| I heard that many of the abandoned graveyards from the early 1900's were made for people who died of tuberculosis. Maybe they'll get what they deserved... |

| I recently saw this on suicidegirls.com I just want to say it's shameful to all stoner's. I don't think it's cool at all to go dig up some little kids grave and smoke out of the skull, it's just wrong man. Quote:

| actually, the little boy's name was willie simms. he does have next-of-kin and according to articles on monday they have yet to be notified... i have family who died as far back as the civil war who are buried in little rural cemetaries, most of which have not been used in decades, some of which are no longer maintained... even though we never knew them, my family would still certainly get upset if someone did something to the corpses. i never knew them, but i can tell stories that my grandmother passed on to me about so many relatives that died long, long before i was born. everyone's just assuming that since the person had been dead for so long and that since no one knew him while he was alive, no one would give a shit... but that's not necessarily true.

| We moved from Chicago in 1968 to Ohio. We moved into the country for the first time in my life. I explored the woods and surrounding area the first few years, finding the old family cemetary from the 1800's and old log cabins on part of the property. I cleaned around it with the machete and was the caretaker for a couple of years. The remaining family members started visiting once in a while after I cut a new path for them to use. It is sad that a grave was opened and robbed. The fact is that billions of people lay in unmarked and uncared for graves all over the world. We are probably walking on their dust. What we do in this life echoes thru eternity...... Why did I do it? That place had a story to tell just as plain as the sun. All you had to do was read it from the stones. Less than twenty graves from the grandchildren and the grandpa to one baby less than one year old. The story was about settlement and trials and tribulations and life well lived. I sat and listened to the stories as they were told to me......... Life is just another way to die. We need to see all that is there, not just the obvious. This cemetary wasn't cared for as most aren't, but the relatives carry the seed of life that has been passed down from their ancestors. Grave yards should have that respect if nothing else. Some Where In Ded Land................... ![]()

| I understand what they did was a gross violation of social norms, but personally, I'm not that big on social norms. It's not something I would do, but I don't see the problem with it personally. They didn't harm anyone. On a daily basis, we all probably walk on or otherwise disturb the fragments of what were once many living bodies.. I really don't see why so much significance is ascribed to corpses. The flesh is not the being and will eventually return to dust. |
