If I'm not mistaken about the laws concerning hemp seed, you can only be arrested for seed possession if the seeds are viable. Many snack foods and beverages made with hemp seed are available in the USA, but only because they have less than a certain percentage of THC and cannot be germinated.

Hemp seed is after all a highly nutritious food source.

You're right about the seeds. If they have been sterilized and cannot grow, then they are considered a health food. It was something the DEA fought vigarously and lost.

With each new sack I get, I save about 10 seeds---so for this year, I have purchased about 10 sacks of herb and have about 100 seeds in a jar in my garage. I really want to plant them because that way I can grow the phenotypes that gave me great highs. But, I'm sooo scared to plant them b/c I know the nosey naybors will start askin questions plus I would have to grow it outside b/c the grow lights are just way too expensive.

I think ordering seeds is pretty safe. I have heard that if the seeds are discovered by customs, they are just rejected and you may get a note that says they were rejected. Once they make it into the US mail system they are supposedly not subject to search without a warrant. I used to get them by registered mail but for some reason the outfit I deal with no longer offers this. They send them in a stealth packet and I have only had one order never make it -- why I don't know. Nevertheless I would not have them sent to the place you are growing just to be safe. If you do it might be prudent to wait a few months before starting to grow.
