Legal and can you buy them legally online, i live in ohio if it makes any difference. I've many different answers to this so i thought i would come on here and ask.

no, seeds are illegal to possess. Just because you can order them online doesn't make them legal in any way. A single seed can get you arrested for possession of marijuana

SmokeDank, according to my notes--possesing that much seed can make you seem like a Farmer and will likely get a third degree misdemeanor.

good to know cause i used to walk around with 2 containers in my backpack one had about 30 of one strain and another one with around 25 of another strain...wont do that again

In the eyes of the law, marijuana is marijuana and you would get busted for MJ possesion. And the weight of the seeds would determine the severity of the charge. A pound of seeds is the same as a pound of bud. And a pound of marijuana roots is the same as a pound of marijuana bud. A pound of marijuana stems and stalks is the same as a pound of bud.

i find that kind of hard to believe, so if i got caught with a pound of stems i would be charged with intent to sell? thats just crazy

Not necessarily, if you didn't have any paraphernalia that indicated intent to sell you could always claim the pound of stems was for personal use.

After the cops were done making fun of you, you would be arrested for felony possession in many states.

If I'm not mistaken about the laws concerning hemp seed, you can only be arrested for seed possession if the seeds are viable. Many snack foods and beverages made with hemp seed are available in the USA, but only because they have less than a certain percentage of THC and cannot be germinated.

Hemp seed is after all a highly nutritious food source.
