Hi everyone,

My name is L. and I currently live in Montreal, Canada. I am telling this story because i feel my rights were violated and I REALLY, and i mean REALLY, **** the officer who did this to me. Anyways, last nite on friday i decide to pick a set (7gs up here in the north) of some nice exotics. Anyways me and my other friend with his 3.5 decide to go to my friends house to knock back a few spliffs and toke on his bong. Were all stoned and me and my friend with the 3.5 decide to leave at like 1:10 AM. So were walking from near the downtown area when we see this burned down house beside the road. As you know, we were stoned and it was cool so we walked over to the house to see the sign explaining what had happened. THen suddenly out of no where a ****ing squad car comes up asking what were doing. In my stoned stupor, i act very polite with the officer and i say we are just looking at the sign. Hes like bull**** and he pulls over to the side of the road. So he starts ****ing with us and he thinks were graffittying or some ****. Anyways i tell him no and that we are just checking the sign. He asks me if i have an i.d. and i lie because its in my backpack with all my weed. So then hes like fine im searching your stuff. I'm like you can't do that, and hes like yes i can. ... So he opens my bag and finds my 7 grams of weed and he takes that and my friends. So he acts like a major dick and takes all the weed but lets us go free.


Now here's my problem. 1) Yes, I did not receive a criminal record but what right did he have to search my possessions? I was not doing anything illlegal or suspicious, I explained to him exactly what we were doing politely. Last time I checked, police cannot pull you over and just randomly search you. It seems to me that this was a simple case of "age prejudice" because me and my friend are 17. Surely if we were 40 walking down the street like we were doing nothing would have happened. So anyways my point is that I want to take the ****ing ****** cop to court for wrongful search or anything thats legal. Another KEY FACTOR IS THAT I HAVE DIPLOMATIC STATUS here in Canada. I did not want to mention it to him as it would have only enfuriated him even more. I am wondering, to all you lawyers and law experts, is there anything that I could do against this officer or department>??? I was not doing anything and i got searched without probable cause. The fact that he thought I was spray painting is un-related to the chronic. Help me for I have no clue if he was right or if i was........

Basically what pisses me off the most is that I lost 65 canadian dollars for not doing anything. I was not breaking any laws in order for him to search me. If he thought i was doing something to the building he could have looked at the building and seen that there was nothing there..... what ****ing right did he have? He searched my bad, he searched me and my friend, and he didnt explain ****. He abused the fact that we were 17 and scared ****less. And don't nobody tell me u should have done this and that cuz all that **** changes in your head when your actually getting patted down by an officer......... ANYWAYS PLZZZZ HELP!

For an arrest to be wrongful, you have to be arrested. If he took any further action you could probably do something about it, but pressing the issue wouldn't get you anywhere. Not like they will give it back or give you its value back. Sorry dude, not much you can do here.

I think you should keep your ID in a handier location and seperated from your stash. LOL

Talk to a good attorney and find out if you can file a law suit against the police officer and department. Suing the police is the only thing that will get then to change their policies and back off.

It was 1:30 in the morning, you were high and in front of a building that doesn't belong to you.
When questioned, you refuse to provide identification for yourself (bet he was real pleased to find the id when he searched) and weed was found.

You ended up not being arrested and just losing your stash. I would be thanking heaven right now, not complaining.
Many people in this situation would be going to jail.

I KNOW THAT I GOT OFF MODERATELY IM PISSED AT THE MONEY LOST FOR WEED. I DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG FOR HIM TO SEARCH ME. WHY WHOULD HE SEARCH ME FOR LOOKING AT A BURNED DOWN HOUSE. I EXPLAINED WHAT WE WERE DOING THERE AND THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HIM TO KNOW THAT I WAS HIGH OR ANYTHING. DO U COMPREHEND THAT HE PERFORMED A SEARCH ON ME FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON. IF I HAD SEEMED SUSPICIOUS OR IF I HAD GIVEN HIM A WEIRD STORY I WOULD COMPREHEND BUT THIS IS JUST BULL****.

NO WONDER NWA SANG **** THA POLICE DOEZ ****** ASS MUTHA****AZ. IM SURE TAKING MY POT AWAY MADE HAS MADE THE WORLD MUCH SAFER, AND HIS POOR ASS MUCH HIGHER.

Chill out, dude.

It's the classic case of the system wins. It sucks, yes, and I understand completely where you're coming from, but there's not really anything you can do about it. Not many judges would be sympathetic with your case, and those that would be sympathetic would probably have to prosecute you for mj posession.

Even if you succeeded in taking him to court and winning, you wouldn't get your weed or money back, and it would cost you a fortune in lawyer's, settlement, and court fees. Much more than the $65 you paid for the weed.
