Just a quick testimonial, I used to drink almost everyday. It got to a point in my life where alcohol was ruining everything. Now, I smoke, and all I want to do is relax and stay home, or go for a walk on the beach or something, or just listen to music. It has changed my whole like completely. I now, no longer drink alcohol, but I do smoke daily. I still go to the bars just to play pool.(no alcohol) I am unbeatable when I am high, but when I was drunk , I would lose quite frequently. Even when I'm sober I lose, But not while I'm stoned. Even the things I think of when I am stoned are quite remarkable. I come up with the best ideas. And now, thanks to marijuana, I am slowly but surely getting my life on track...

I can second that. I forgot it was the day for ACTs and I got ripped out of my head. Got lost on the way to the testing room. A few months later I found out I got in the mid-30s on all of my tests (except math but I suck at math anyway). I was so fucking hungry though...

I find that when I attend class high that I do better but hear me out before you start chirping aha...
If I go to class sober I am usually ancy and bored with what I am doing and do not pay attention...
However, if I am high I am happy to be just about anywhere, including class if I have to be. I find that I am able to focus on what I am doing and become more involved.

Aha, maybe its just me.

Why don't some of you college type people show this thread to a researcher-

That would be a nice headline to make old granddad smile-

"Study shows marijuana increases intelligence!"

That would make offering George Bush a joint a charitable act...

II wonder if you could claim it on your tax returns....?

I'm serious about the research.

One of the most serious hindrances to the liberalization of marijuana laws has been the prevalence of unscientific and blatantly biased propaganda/hearsay about the weed.

Now, if I understand the scientific method correctly, this would be exactly one of those building blocks of "Fact" questions that a real scientist would leap at. (Well, I doubt the federal government would fund it unless you proposed (guaranteed) to show that it made you less intelligence.)

In my limited understanding, and I admit it is small in such matters as I spent most of my professional life learning how to kill people efficiently and without a shred of remorse for my country- but I do think scientists sort of exist to answer ALL questions. I think, or like to believe, that they are somehow passionate about finding things out, the real ones...

I see a fair amount of respondents to this saying that they have experienced a subjective increase in their intellectual abiliities after using marijuana.

I will go from the idea that they are credible as there really was no reason for anyone to lie anout it, and if they are credible, I have to wonder if their isn't something worth looking into there.

And yes, people study the damndest things- coffee, for instance.

It was determined using the scientific method that the ingestion of coffee did cause an intelligence spike in people tested. Sadly, it was temporary.

Who knows, some pharmaceutical company may be pushing Cannasmarts! THE pretest abililty enhancing pill...

To my grandkids.
