Let's start with a history lesson
George Washington grew it say's so in his pesonal jornal's and in official document's of our GOV.
He had 100+ acres 2-3 of which were for smoking.....It's a fact
It was illegal not grow back then[because of it's many uses ,rope cloth paper ect...] Icould be wrong on the illegal not to grow part but it was widely grown world wide
Ben Franklen[ Key writer of Decleration of Independence] wrote In his pesonal jornal's that he liked nothing more than sitting on his back porch looking out over his feild's [of weed no doubt] and smoking a hemp cigarret[ spelling not my stong point I'm more of a math science guy]but anyway
WERE ELSE DO YOU THINK HE CAME UP WITH THE PHASE"life liberty and the pusuit of Happiness" while all this is public record our law maker have corupted the law in the 20's and 30's of this century to make this usefull and harmless[my and many other's opinion] illegal why?????
well the answer is plain and simple controll......at the time it was control of the black's and latinino's...........now I beleive It's just to control the poor [of all the people locked up for it most are poor and eithnic ]and protect big business [tobacco, alcohol, drug company's.....the list goes on and on think about it's uses then think about what industy stand's to lose money when and if they legalize .......the list is as long as the list of it's uses.........
AND to me the biggest two reason's are..............................
one NO HAS PUT IT OUT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE or no one has been allowed the chance.......and that is show them the gain's by this I mean someone take the time to break it down and fiil in the gap's for them..........I'll make a list. I don't have the number's people far smarter than me need to do that I just have this list that I feel if given the chance was put to congress and the people of this country with all the gap's filed in would change more than a few mind's......


first give them a history lesson like I started with only more in fact's

next show them with number's the gain's in income to goverment at...

local
federal..level's
if they tax it like tobacco and alcohol

next show them the saving's for Incarseration
state
local
federal
if they let go those already locked up and no longer arrest people for cannibis
the saving's would be in the billion'

next show them how much they'd Save by not helping farmer's but by leting them grow this as cash crop at..........

local
federal level's


then show them the profit's to or for
farmer's-per acre
textile ind.
paper Ind.
you get the point my Idea is that given the fact's the true fact's that even our dumb ass congress could not deny the gain's that could be made by legalization
there are two thing's needed first a group of real smart stoner's to gather the fact's AND LET ME BE CLEAR LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED IN THIS FACT HUNT CAUSE THEY DON"T WITH THEIR DIS-IMFORMATION
INSTEAD OF BITCHING AND WISHING GROUP TOGETHER AND IF YOU SMOKE OR FEEL IT SHOULD BE LEGAL AND DON"T SMOKE COME FORWARD AND BE COUNTED because only when the truth comes out about our number's[ I'm talking about you closet smoker's now you know who you are]and the profit's to be made............ will it change
now I just touched on this I left out medical and a few other point's I'm sure as I said people smarter than me need to gather this info, but you get the point build case with the fact's and gather them all so your ready for any and all question's

"Be Counted" is exactly right. MJ will be legalized when a majority of the Congress, the Senate, and the President vote in favor of legalization, and they vote the way they think will get them re-elected. What if each interested person spent five minutes making sure his or her Congressperson, Senators, and the President vote for the changes you want? You don’t have to travel or organize a rally or spend much money (just a few bucks for stamps). What it’s going to take is a steady stream of letters to each Congressperson, each Senator, and the President. Something like the following is a good start:
1) Go to https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml to get the name and address of your Congressperson. This will take less than a minute. Do it now and you’ll have it out of the way.
2) Write the letter. You can make it look like the one below or any way you like; this is just a sample. Spend at least two or three minutes on it, check the spelling, and read it out loud to yourself to see if it makes sense. (Do this while your in a sensible frame of mind,). You don’t have to be a great writer; just stick to the point and keep it short, i.e, not more than one page.
3) Find friend to write a letter, too. Share this material with him or her at your next get together.
4) Repeat the process at least once a week. Make it your personal mission to do two things: Get a letter like this into the hands of your Congressperson, each Senator, and the President, every month (that’s four letters a month), and get some friends to do the same. SERIOUS NOTE from the world of politics: It only takes a handfull of letters to create the impression of significant public interest; an elected official getting a dozen letters a week will really feel the public presence.

I agree with you dude, but your historical argument has so many holes in it...

Franklin never as you said specified that he grew marijuana, or even hemp. And again, a hemp cigarette doesn't necessarily mean thc-laced product. You have to smoke a damn lot of hemp to get high.

But... yeah the main problem is that there's not enough incentive within the government to organize how marijuana would be controlled and taxed by the government in order to gain any profit. And there would be more legislation on how it would be classified as a toxic substance while driving andat the punishments resulting from those infractions are. So until something really moves congress to spend time and tax money on it, nothing will get done.
