I support Obama, and think given the chance he'd change some policies in this area. If you're voting third party on this issue alone, you're an idiot who throws away his vote. I truly feel another republican administration will just throw more money at the war on drugs and make stiffer penalties, as they have always done in the past.

Sorry i misread what you put but no thats not the only reason i'm voting third party

Cannabis is much much less harmful/addictive than tobacco and alcohol. That being said, it would be wise for him to keep his mouth shut and feign ignorance on the subject until he is elected president. Thats my take.

At this point i the election its "damned if you do,damned if you don't."
If you watch the above videos it is very obvious he believes a change in Marijuana laws is needed. Now the extent of that change is speculative at this point. But any change at this point would be beneficial to all of OUR interests.

As I meant. If your voting green party because you are totally committed to it great. I honor your dedication. But to vote republican because obama evaded the question on marijuana is just plain stupid IMO. No person with a chance at winning POTUS would take that stand until they are in office.

I'd like to point out I voted Libertarian for 12 years....until I realized libertarians are just republicans that want to smoke dope. And I have a strong dislike for republican dating back to Ronny ray-gun. Incredibly naive political view that doesn't take into account human greed and nepotism....long story.

Sounds like my kind of party. I'm economically conservative and morally liberal.

You left out the part were they are naive political view that doesn't take into account greed and nepotism. I was very active in the party and a lot of the people scared me. Militia types, pseudo-christian doomsday cult members. Some people that make a rave look tame....

Cool

I will vote for Obama. I will admit that the republicans have a strong leader in J.M., but I think Obama will do more for the people of this country who need it than John McClain will.

I have nothing but respect for John, his war service and all the years he's been a Senator. I do think his grasp of foreign politics is better.

Barack will get the seasoning he needs in the first two years. With the multiple wars and world crisis' we have going on right now he will get a real snap course in "President".

I, for one, will be most interested in his message and actions towards Darfur. Now that American oil interests have taken over the Iraqi infrastructure for their oil prouction, the American troops can start to leave.

My sons in the Army and he told me that they need the troops in Afghanistan worse than Iraq. Apparently the Taliban is pulling more actions against the "occupiers" than ever before. They expect three to seven casualties a week in the up coming months..........

What will Baracks plans be for Georgia? Russia said to Bush "What would we do Califorrnia suddenly said it was leaving the Union? Just wave goodbye and say screw it?"

It's doubtful.....for now....

My final reason. Barack is strong enough to take more of the mental weight than an older guy like J.M.

I don't think McCain or Obama will do anything about the marijuana laws. Obama may promise to change things now, but then when we look back four years from now there won't be any change. Hopefully I'll be wrong.

It's a shame to see articles today saying McCain gained another 5 points in these polls that are out now. These people who want to vote for McCain better not be the same ones bashing Bush, because this is what it will be like for another four years if McCain is elected.
