Hey guys. I currently work at a little drink shop at which i have a little bit of priveledge.. (my roommate is the manager).
Recently I came up with a little idea. Considering this store gets a pretty decent volume of customers (100+ daily), I feel I could reach quite a few of them.

This is my idea-- I'd like to post 1-2 signs up in the store that would in some way spread knowledge and educate the public about marijuana and medical MJ. My hopes is to raise awareness and support for MMJ and responsible MJ use through these signs that are in open and plain view of the public.


This is where I need your help. I want these signs to be unbiased and informative/factual, very IN-YOUR-FACE and noticeable. I feel that if I do this all by myself, somehow it would be of limited quality. If I could get some suggestions for what to write, and maybe a couple of great pictures.. or even a whole layout if someone knows how.. I would really appreciate it.

I'm thinking one big picture of marijuana that takes up half a page, with some catchy text under it to catch attention, and then one page with facts on it.

But that's my idea. I'm thinking with the help of the people on this excellent site, the signs could be much better and much more effective.
I'm looking for lots of help!!

Whatever you do, keep it short and simple. It has been my experience with notices and informational brochures that if it takes people too long to read it, they won't. It should take no longer than 10-15 seconds to read the entire thing.

Forget the photo of the marijuana leaf. You don't want those who are against marijuana to discard the brochure without reading the information. If they see the leaf, they won't read the material.

Keep it informational. A "Did you know...." type of format.

This is the correct format for this type of post.

put an "anti-pot" type of picture with your factual information, this way you can confuse, amaze, and inform people all at the same time :P

I'd like to print these to distribute.. anyone know how to fold them properly? It looks a bit confusing..

Unless you get the owner's permission, I think it would be highly inappropriate for you to do something that--depending on your community--may spark a PR backlash.

You're right, I will have to check with him ultimately...
However like I said my room mate is the manager, so I may have a bit of persuasion power.
