|  What's the situation in Illinois, more specifically Chicago? So after a while living in the "wilderness", I might move to Chicago in a year or so, and I wanted to know what the status was. Make it really clear cuz I don't know any legal terms or any of that crap. I did search, by the way, and for some reason, nothing came up.

| I have high hopes for across-the-board decriminalization from Obama. Policies like the one in Chicago are clearly in violation of the 8th Amendment - "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

| I'm not "up to speed" with my law, but I believe that you're wrong. I think that it depends on wut class the drug is classified as, and wut priority. Then again, I could be COMPLETELY wrong (and probably am  ). |
