change.gov has recently implemented a new feature which allows users to submit their own questions onto the site. Whichever questions get the most votes, get the most attention.. so we need to try and get some marijauna-related subjects on the board.

I'm posting this on other forums as well. No other group of people has come together to get their subjects up on the board. The highest vote total for a question is 3000. We can do this with the membership on these message boards. Let's use this as a chance to get marijuana issues front and center.

Dear NORML Members and Supporters,

Since the election of Barack Obama to the presidency, NORML's staff is
besieged daily with inquiries from the general public and cannabis law
supporters like 'What can I do to make marijuana legal under Obama? What
do I do? Who do I contact?'

NORML's Deputy Director Paul Armentano blogged tonight about change.org,
which is offering folks an opportunity to send an unmistakable message in
favor of cannabis law reforms to the incoming administration. By logging
onto the website, visitors can “vote” on whether to “legalize the
medicinal and recreational use of marijuana.”

Having gained over 1,000 votes so far, pot legalization is currently the
top vote getter in the “criminal justice” category.

Let's send a clear message to President-elect Obama that Americans support
and want cannabis law reforms!

Check out Paul's blog post and info (see below) on how you, and all your
like-minded friends and family, can in fact take part in a project that
communicates the 'change' NORML has been working so hard for since 1970.
Participating in this online 'vote' is an anonymous but empowering way to
give 'Team Obama' measurable data that will hopefully provide them the
political guidance and backbone to support substantive cannabis law
reforms.

the new Congress, let's make sure they know that cannabis law reforms are

I did it. If you search marijuana prohibition an interesting question that mentions harry anslinger comes up. This is good way to voice opinion.

In all reality, it would boost the economy. Hemp, is also a very viable option to produce biofuels. Its very efficient for that purpose. We could start making hemp roap again...and hemp paper. Its all cost effective.

Its not like the only jobs that would be created would be growing and selling pot. Lot more than that. Heh.

Vicki - I tried change.org, and when searching under the Criminal Justice link, "marijuana" showed no results. I couldn't find it anywhere on the site. Have you had any luck?
