As the owner of a brewery and a victim of the war on drugs (I just got raided last month and was found to be growing 13 plants in my basement), I will tell you that I don't know any brewers or owners of craft breweries that support the continued prohibition of marijuana. I get sick and tired of people clumping me in with Bud, Miller, and Coors as enemy of legalization. We want pot legal as much as you do.

I just wanted to correct a misrepresentation of the facts. Thank you.

i think most people are referring to the self righteous heads of the globalized brewers that get multimillion dollar bonuses for increase year to date consumption.

I understand why some brewers want to keep it illegal.

Legalized marijuana= less alcohol sales.

Why do you think the cotton industry wanted to outlaw hemp? Just make your opinions heard, I'm sure people don't stereotype you by your buisness. If they do they don't think of you as the 'enemy' until you give them a concrete reason to.

First of all, sorry if I sounded like a bitch with my first post. I was feeling like I was all alone on this forum. Sorry about that.

Yes, I have made hempen-weizen as homebrew, and yes, it was wonderful. Pot and hops are closely related and pot can be used in place of hops in beer. With some hops hitting $50 per lb, it is not the same beast as OG-Diesel, at $4000 per lb. I don't know a lot of people who could spend that much on a six pack.

As for breweries being worried about pot interfering with beer sales, we have no fear at all. They work so well together. I love nothing better then to smoke a joint and drink a pint or two in the comfort of my own home. I have been smoking for over half of my life. I can smoke and no one can tell the difference.

No one should drink or smoke and drive. Do you remember the first time you smoked strong pot? I bet you could barley tie your shoes. Ask your friends if you should be in public, not your asshole friends, but your serious friends with jobs, if they agree that you can be seen in public. You might not be able to tell the difference if you are some kind of a noob.

After you have built up tolerance to pot, you felt like you could be out in public with out making your self look like an asshole. After over 20 years of smoking, you can learn what you can do and what you should fucking avoid while being high. There is almost no reason why someone should drive while drunk or high. Is it worth hurting someone else?

I will say that I have driven while drunk and while high. While I do not advocate either, but driving drunk is much more hazardous then driving high if you have been smoking for a while. Its better to keep them both in the home and off of the road.

I have smoked tobacco and I could not have driven a lawn mower, let alone a car. Regular smokers, like my dad, smoke and drive every day with no ill effects. So I guess it matters if you are new to a drug or not as to whether of not you can function while on it.

P.S. I just got a phone call from an old girlfriend. I told her that there is a chance that I can be facing up to 15 years in prison for growing for personal consumption. It was the first time that I expressed my deepest fears about this bust. I have never had any trouble with the law before, so I will likely get one year of piss testing, but the option exists that I can get handed my ass by a DA with a hard-on for growers. I am fucking scared out of my mind. I could be in prison until I am 55 years old if they decide to fuck me on this. My little girl would be a senior in high school. FUCK!

Hey Beer guy!!!!!!!, I got an ancient copy of the anarchist cookbook and that guy claimed marijuana and hops can be hybrid to make smokable hops or brew thc laden beer, ever here of this? always wanted to ask a brewer that......
