| guys and gals, change.gov has open for questions round two. lets push a marijuana reform question to first place again and show Obama America is ready for a change. If you belong to any other Marijuana law related forums, please spread the word asap since we only have a couple of days. Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Transition Team | Open for Questions here is my question: "What will the Obama administration do to ensure the American people are allowed to choose Cannabis as their recreational substance of choice instead of alcohol and tobacco which are not only more dangerous/deadly but also more addictive?" Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Transition Team | Open for Questions everyone should vote for as many "marijuana questions" as they can. most of them are under the "additional issues" tab. | That question is basically the same as the last one that was pushed to #1, so don't expect a different answer. We should ask why he is not for the legalization of marijuana when there is proof that it is less harmful then tobacco, alcohol, and other illicit drugs. Im not good with writing questions, especially when I am limited to 250 words , so if any one else can write it up, I would greatly appreciate it. |

Its important we put pressure on this incoming administration to address our legalization question, rather than insultingly writing us off with a one liner. Keep pushing the issue.

My question is more open ended and makes a direct comparison to alcohol and tobacco (both legal and more harmful) and focuses not only on legalization but also decriminalization which Obama has said he is for. See video: note that he says hes for decriminalization but not legalization

| A: Because legalizing marijuana is what hundreds of thousands of racist Americans expect him to do because he's black.

| How many rounds is it going to take before it becomes clear that the Obama administration isn't going to listen to the people on this one? Two? Three? Ten? All they're doing with Round Two is allowing all the people who are anti-marijuana (who were shocked and angered by the results of Round One) the opportunity to bust onto his site and make something less controversial their number one priority. And as soon as that is accomplished, no matter how many rounds it takes, Obama's team is going to brush the less-than-savory initial results under the rug and focus on our "new priorities." This. Is. Bullshit. The people spoke once. Actually, fuck, they (we) have spoken more than once. We've been speaking up about this for years. How many times do we have to be ignored before we realize that our opinions mean absolutely nothing at all? I thought Obama was about "Hope for America" and "Change?" I thought he cared about listening to the people's wants, needs and desires? How great of a job has he done so far? He took what was clearly an issue of utmost importance to so many people of this country and brushed us all off with a one-sentence answer that probably took his PR people a full day of brainstorming to make as vague and as blunt as possible. Nothing is going to change. The people have said, "This is what we want." Obama has replied, "I don't give a fuck what you want." So he inhaled and "That was the point?" Well I'm thrilled that he didn't have his life ruined by an arrest for possession. To the millions and millions of people in this country who have, Obama is basically saying, "Tough shit." That doesn't seem fair, does it? And to think I voted for him and was thrilled that he won. Well, shit. At least if I had voted for McCain I would've expected to be getting a President who doesn't give a rat's ass about the people. But this? This is disappointing. I'm still holding onto some small hope that Obama will actually surprise me and throw us responsible, peace-loving, harmful-to-no-one cannabis consumers a bone. But I won't be surprised if he doesn't. ![]() Edit: For the record, I'm not signing up for his website and I'm not voting. It's nothing but a waste of time. Obama doesn't care what we think. If he wants to put on this big show and act like he does, I think that is cruel and pathetic.

Obama's theme is "change." No one ever bothered to ask if that change would be good. Everyone just wanted change, so they voted for him.
