Change.gov has begun another idea submission initiative, but this time it's called The Citizens' Briefing Book, and it won't be filled with questions. Instead, users who have signed in to their change.gov accounts are able to submit policy ideas, much like is happening on change.org right now. The top ten most popular policy ideas will be presented to the President once he is sworn in, so I would say that we must secure a place for a marijuana-centered question now more than ever. At present, there is a marijuana-related question in the top ten (it's in seventh place, in fact), and it is as follows: "Ending Marijuana Prohibition I suggest that we step back and take a non-biased "Science Based" approach to decide what should be done about the "Utter Failure" that we call the War on (some) Drugs. The fact is that Marijuana is much less harmful to our bodies than other Legal Drugs such as Tobacco and Alcohol. And for the Government to recognize Marijuana as having Medicinal Properties AND as a Schedule I drug (Has NO medicinal Properties) is an obvious flaw in the system. We must stop imprisoning responsible adult citizens choosing to use a drug that has been mis-labeled for over 70 years." The link below leads to the top ten questions on change.gov, so I urge everyone to sign in and vote. Citizen's Briefing Book Top Ten

Third times a charm? Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to keep this issue at the forefront. Still no word about a drug czar, maybe that's good news.

I registered and voted a couple of days ago, then the "End Marijuana Prohibition" was third from the bottom. Checked today and glad to see it is in second place!

I just voted. I hope that more users from Marijuana.com go and vote, took less then a few seconds; and like what people stated above, we need to keep this issue in the limelight. If we can have at least 90% of the people that visit Marijuana.com on a regular basis vote, I believe we will be close if not at the top spot.

| I know that this is kind of a "Republican" tactic, but if we also vote down the other initiatives in the top 10, there's a chance that we can hit number 1.

Well, if you want to do that, go for it; but I find that wrong. Some of the other initiatives are very important, hell, some more important then marijuana legalization, so I would feel wrong voting some of them down. However, if you want to, go for it ![]()
