Well ladies and gentlemen, now it's time to get our cause to the top page again:

I would say, only vote for the top marijuana related questions. I know it would be awesome to have your question voted to the top, however there are already many great questions posted. It doesn't make sense to have 12,000 questions, and the top marijuana question has 10,000 votes for example. Register and vote.

Advanced warning. ANY negative Nancy's that consist on trolling this thread with shitty one liners, I will groan and give you negative rep. This is based on getting our questions answered NOT political disagreements and "I'm right, your wrong" attitudes. You've been warned.

A quick example on how I voted. I went to each individual topic as followed (The GREEN = top 10 the = number 1)

In each category, I hit 'Ctrl + F' to bring up the search feature and typed 'marijuana'. We have it good right now, but with your help, we can have it even better.

It's hugely important that we keep this issue at the forefront, otherwise it will get pushed by the wayside. It's easy and takes 3 minutes, tell all your friends!

I'm confused when I go to that page. There's so many questions regarding marijuana. Over 200 in fact. Which ones should I vote on? All of them?

vote for the top intelligent ones. For instance don't vote for "We need to legalize marijuana" But do vote for the ones that put a reason. after all we want them to announce this on air and we need our reasons to be heard when they do.

Why not? We should try to focus our efforts on one or two, however; if you see some other marijuana related questions that you like, go ahead and vote for them.

Also, Im hoping you guys don't only vote for mj-related questions, there are other issues that need to be dealt with as well .

And marcus, seriously man, in the past couple of threads I've seen nothing but pessimistic posts from you. NOTHING is meaningless. This may seem stupid and meaningless to you, however, the President will have to answer the top questions. And he can't give the same half-assed response he gave the last time.

What do you expect? Want to stage a revolution and overthrow the government? Let me just go grab my pitchfork and leave my brain since its weighing me down.

If anything, the media will get a hold of this, and it will help keep marijuana in the forefront again. I'd rather have "wasted" 3 mins of my time voting rather then regretting that I did nothing at all.

The government is opening itself to suggestions, which they will respond to. I don't see it as a waste of time at all. Keep the issue in their face, don't let them ignore it any more.

Perhaps we should go about it in the only valid legal channel available to us, our Representatives and Senators. Barak Obama can not make marijuana legal with a wave of his magic wand. That needs congressional support. To be sure, having the support of the President is not a bad thing, but we are going about this in the wrong manner.


The government is not opening itself to suggestions. The White House is asking Americans to ignore the established and normal legal channels for their interests (Congress) and telling them instead to post a question on a website and vote for it to get to the top. (very American Idol-esque, wouldn't you say?)

Which accomplishes exactly what? Proving that people on the internet want to see MJ legalized? Correct me if I'm wrong, but legalization of marijuana was one of, if not the, top question on the change.gov list last time. What happened to it? Is marijuana legal? Did it receive anymore positive attention than it ever has in the past?

Ian, I couldn't agree with you more. We need to keep the issue in their face. However, voting for a question to be number one on a website hardly accomplishes anything towards that end. This website can very easily be ignored altogether, and has no legal standing in our government. So, why not keep this issue in the face of our Reps and Senators as opposed to our executive branch? We need to keep this in the face of the people who make the laws.

This website will not do that.

Again, I agree. Yet again, I disagree with the method involved. Push for this on a congressional level, not an executive level, as the congressional level is where real change is made...

Now, that being said, I voted for several questions, and will again.

My point with this is post is that I fear people are going to substitute action that is more likely to make change (pressuring congress) with voting on this site.
