CNN is airing great coverage on the issue right now. Ron Paul was just on heatedly debating the subject with some douche bag who says we don't need medical marijuana because we have marinol. WTF does it matter if you get the THC from smoking the plant or taking a pill, it's the same thing. He also used the argument that marijuana has 4 times the amount of tar as tobacco.

Ron Paul was getting REALLY pissed, especially when they ended the segment.

Talking with Medicinal Marijuana patients over the years, I have heard over and over that it isn't the same thing. Trying to get folks that can't hold anything down to swallow a pill is problematic as well as judging dosage is much much easier vaporizing/smoking. No lag time between swallowing a pill and the onset of relief as well.

Not to mention that besides THC, there are all the cannabioids that interact and help with certain symptoms. Don't get those with marinol.

That is the poll you are asking me to vote on? What is the right answer for our cause anyway? It looks like a loaded question to me. Lou Dobbs is not gonna take a pro weed position. They are lumping it together with all other illegal drugs like they always do. what makes you so sure that the media is pro-decriminalization?

To me it's pretty obvious that the correct answer for our cause is no, he should not be laughing at a very plausible solution to a very serious problem.

okay I thought so too and voted accordingly. You gotta admit that it was a pretty backhanded way to phrase the poll though. Hardly a pro-herb poll IMHO. Why couldn't they just have stated MJ instead of illegal drugs?

Not to mention that anyone who brings up marinol would know that marijuana has medical properties and needs to be reclassified.
