Dear Mr. President -

As a member of your constituency and one of those who voted for various pro-marijuana-legalization questions on Change.gov, I was very disappointed in the treatment you gave us at your recent Town Hall Meeting.

I can understand how it is currently politically unfeasible for you to voice a favorable opinion about legalizing marijuana, whatever your personal feelings on the subject. That's hardly a reason to deride, dismiss, and marginalize the tens of thousands who voted on Change.gov and the millions who believe that the War on Marijuana generates far more problems and public expense than legal marijuana itself ever could.

I financially supported your campaign. I voted for you. I do not deserve your disrespect, nor do the many who support cannabis legalization. A public apology would be in order, as would an explanation for your peremptory "No!" Logic, science, compassion, and individual freedom stand on the side of legalization. What is your basis for a stand against it?
