What if that were to happen? What if they legalized weed for production and sale by government agencies/factories but did not allow us to grow our own?

So basically, you can buy it at a store, you can smoke it in the street, but your life is over if you are caught growing....

Then most people would just buy commercial bud and not grow, but you can't stop everyone from doing it. There will always be some people who grow for personal use whether it is legal or not. If the government was producing shitty bud and I had the chance to grow the dankest shit I would probably grow it privately even if I were to end up in prison if I got caught. But on the other hand if the government is willing to supply the dank shit then why do you even need to grow? I rather go to a dispensary or Pot Shop and just pick out the strains I would like, as long as it is still all natural and there are no added chemicals that shouldn't be there, like in cigarettes.

It won't happen. They'll put regulations on it, but people will be allowed to grow their own.

It'll be just like alcohol. You can brew your own, but you have to have a license to sell it.

Which is the whole point of the tax stamp. The tax stamp was created around the 1930's for MJ but if you got the 1 dollar tax stamp you was watched by the goverment and the minute u was caught selling it you was throw in jail.

Its legal right now to brew your own beer. You can buy little brew kits a Walmart. So it all most certainly would be legal to grow your own herb, but most people would buy from stores for all of the obvious reasons with quality being the top reason.

I only smoke legal herbs, when I come to these forums and discuss things like smoking and the high one gets I'm referring to the feeling I get from legal herbs and have no information on what others are smokeing or reffering to. I don't smoke marijuana but do enjoy discussing and talking about legal herbs and the high from different legal smoking methods and all my post should be viewed in that light.

unlikely. it would be far easier for massive companies to mass produce lower level thc, than anything with quality. america will make its own version of ditch weed, except with chemically fertilizer and horrible pesticides. you would be far better off growing your own.

remember capitalism, and what it does. people dont give a crap about quality anymore, and the best way to get something done, is to do it yourself.

Companies would be selling different potencies at different costs and competition would force them to grow quality product. You would have some brickweed at rock bottom prices for the cheapskates.

If they sold crap no one would buy it and continue to buy from their quality sources.

Logically we could eliminate the drug trafficking by simply supplying quality weed at low prices. That would mean people only buy from U.S. suppliers and it eliminates billions in profit for a massively powerful drug trade that threatens to topple a nation.

It will never happen for a variety of reasons the number one being the banks will not profit from it. It doesn't cost enough to produce to make the banks any real profit. They see only small returns and banks hate that. Its the banks the control policy not the congress, they do what the banks allow them.

They always have. Since 1913 our nation has been under the control of bankers not lawmakers.

Think about it, what do they profit from the most? War. Drugs. The war on drugs.

They don't ever want it to stop. Do you really think that Columbian drug cartels cannot be stopped? I mean really, you can see the farms with a satellite. You don't even need to arrest anyone, just shoot a fucking missile and the crop is done. Do that enough and the cartel is sunk. No crop no money, no money no power.

Eventually it will be decriminalized, more and more people are starting to figure out that it has many benefits and the fewest side effects of any drug. All studies have confirmed no long term damage is done. The lies of the establishment are beginning to be known.

It will take something catastrophic to change it. There is no other way.

At the very least hemp should be made legal. Not only can you make over a thousand products from it you can make a cheap abundant renewable fuel to power the world for pennies on the dollar. You won't make billions per quarter doing so but you will always make a profit. It is by no means volatile. That is why it won't happen. It can't make $25 billion in a single quarter.

It all depends on the way legal marijuana would be taxed. If the taxes are set too high, people will be tempted to break the law to get a supply at a reasonable price.

Even though it's legal, we don't see many people growing their own tobacco, fermenting their own wine, or brewing their own beer. That's because they're affordable. That would change if a pack of smokes or a six-pack cost $100 because of taxes, even if home production was made illegal.

you can brew beer but you cannot distill alcohal and you cannot grow tobacco They have a branch of government to make sure private citizens cant grow tobacoo wich has never been illegal. Take a look at the regulations and licensing that commercial tobacco farms go thru. I have never ever ever seen any bill that includes the right to produce marijuana. I would even expect if it becomes legal to purchase mj that the penalties for production will be worse. One of the reasons CA is looking to legalize is to stop card holders from growing it. Medical mj now can be grown only because there is no supply and that is the argument in other states for not having medical mj.
