Talking The Great Flyer Passout

So heres my idea for a lil event that has been in my mind, i wanted to make a bunch of flyers to pass out getting people involved in the reform of marijuana laws, but before i do this i have to cover some ground rules. 1) im on probation and i CAN NOT get in trouble with the law like not even for littering or else i can not get my financial aid i ned to go to college. So i need to know about possible prosecution for what im doing. My plan: Make thousands of flyers and pass them out to as many people as i can in major cities around me in massachusetts just me and a few friends wearing those nifty cardboard signs saying stats about the casualities of the war ond drugs. Questions i have: one goes straight to Rick, first off Can i use your websites url in my flyers, im sure you would like a copy of the exact flyer before i get your ok on this but before i move forward i would like a place to tell these people where to go. Second one goes to the lucky person who can answer this, when i give someone a flyer does it become there property? I would hate for some jerk to through a flyer on the ground and i get the fine for littering. Well if you could get back to me id appreciate it much.

Talking Great Idea!

The Celric, That is one of the best ways to get the public to be informed on the war on drugs.

Sorry I cant help you about the littering thing. Or about the probation, but I doubt you'll be breaking laws besides littering if that is a crime if they drop it. I saw people handing out flyers about strip clubs with naked women on them! (of couse i took a look )

Another thing is, that might be a bad thing to say that you live in Mass. Because I think you'll be the only few passing around flyers about Marijuana. But I'm just looking out for my fellow tokers. But I think I am going to do the same thing. Seems easy and a good and efficient way to get people informed.

Good Thinking!

Default Forward Thinking

The Cleric, I admire your ambition.

This is Marijuana.Com, you can do just about anything you want with it. Feel free to reference any content or just point people here in general. But, make sure you dont do it in email form. That's spam. There's no such thing as good spam.

If you want some type of further committment from Marijuana.Com or myself, I am afraid I will be unable to help. Things are just too complicated with the site right now to make further committments. I hope you can understand. Please do not let this be any deterent to what you have in mind because it is people like you...not websites like Marijuana.Com that will ultimately make any difference at all.

realisticly,

rick

Ok....again, I don't want to sound like a parnoid nut hiding out in mountains of Vermont, but I someone has gotta say this...

People that are organizing events in the real world....like Cleric, IndoorGanja, and others that join up have to realize something....these message boards are NOT private information safehavens. I am almost 100% certain that DEA, FBI, and local police officers are reading the exact same threads we are reading, thus they are getting the same information that the rest of us are getting.

People that are organizing events should not post any details about the events on these forums. If counter-narcotics officials can see how we plan, it will be easier for them to retaliate against our movement.

I hope they do read these web sites and others like them. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna see anyone get busted. I can't help but wonder with the technology we have today, why the politicians aren't reading them. You would think they would just to get a clue how the real world is. I keep thinking that our own government is borderline criminal in this matter.

The government knows we, as a people, aren't not criminals.

They just don't care.

There is nothing illegal about passing out fliers. There is nothing illegal about organizing a protest. It is, in fact, exactly the kind of political speech protected by the First Amendment. There's really nothing that a police organization can do without creating a public relations nightmare for itself. If you keep an event secret, after all, you'll be there all by yourself.

I've been doing this stuff openly for 30 years and never had any problems with any police organization.

There are lots of fliers out there in PDF format that you can copy and modify. Go to the websites of various pro-legalization organization and search for "flyers".

Bump and a half,

I know the OP ius long gone, but if anyone is thinking of doing this and is afraid of getting in trouble with the law, just be sure you dont need a permit from the city/county to hold a protest or demonstration.
