| I'm wondering... what about after the war on drugs ends and the U.S. government legalizes marijuana? I know what they say about all of the economic effects. And they are right, legalizing marijuana will stabilize and make prosper the economy. What I want to know is how will it effect the marijuana smoker and how will it effect the marijuana grower. I can see several possibilities. I can easily see the government passing law which makes it so only licensed and therefore taxable growers can grow marijuana. If that happens it will mean that not just anyone can grow marijuana. It will most likely be a crime to grow with out a license. If that is the case then the only ones to profit off the economic increase will be those wealthy enough to acquire a government license. Things will remain quite the way they are now with 90% of the nations wealth in the hands of 10% of the population. The way I see it legalization with out some VERY careful planning could make it so legalizing it does not benefit the entire community of marijuana smokers but only a select few. This is one possible out come of the war on drugs and the process of legalization that I see. Please let me know what you think. Also please keep in mind that I was very high when I wrote this. ![]() Last edited by Lost in thought : 07-09-2009 at 08:19 AM. Reason: grammer |
