Cannabis prohibition is a very complex problem. It has so many facets that make one large effect. In terms of actually pointing to THE PROBLEM that is responsable for the mess. We need to organize in a new and larger way, perhaps yet undefined.

I believe the cannabis prohibition is against Christ.

Cannabis prohibition is the planets greatest evil.

I KNOW YOUR POST IS TRYING TO MAKE A POINT AND I AGREE WITH MOST. however SCUBA is not a risky sport. stat wise scuba is safer then golf. but like marijuana some things are see as risky when they are not.

there is no singular issue that makes marijuana illegal because there are so many answers to this question. its a package deal, and many politicians think its too big to swallow all at once. plus, you can't break up legalization into small chunks as easily as you can a fine BC nug. it just doesn't work like that. ANY legalization is FULL legalization, pretty much. although medical and industrial are to a lesser degree.

speaking of industrial, i don't see why people are arguing about it. no one's smoking rope with .005% THC, and if they did it wouldn't matter. plus it has industrial benefits galore. [this paragraph belongs on another page.]

No matter how serious of an issue this is, marijuana legalization will always be viewed as a joke. A very good example of this is the show "The West Wing." I saw an episode a couple of weeks ago where the Surgeon General was in trouble for telling the truth about marijuana. She told some people in a chat room that it was safer than alchohol and tobacco yet it is "bizarrely classified as a schedule 1 narcotic." So all of the politicians in the white house go into a panic because she told the truth.

President; "Who is against her?"
Guy; He names a bunch of "respectable" government groups.
President; "Who is supporting her?"
Guy "The cannabis society, Hemp Lovers USA, Free the weed association, the cannabis legalization group, and friends of maryjane."

During the entire episode, just more and more medical evidence was given to support what the Surgeon General had said, but its still a joke. No matter how obvious it was that marijuana is safer than alchohol and tobacco, the whole issue is just a joke that shouldnt be taken seriously.

Anyone else know what Im talking about? I think that they were trying to support marijuana legalization, but they just couldnt help but put in a couple of jokes to undermine the whole thing.

P.S. I just ran the spell check thing and found out that Ive been spelling "alcohol"wrong my whole life. Why didnt someone tell me?

To me the situation appears to be on the next step, wich is contempt.

We are there and have been viewing our country w/ contempt on this issue, and it is getting worst.

That should be a good thing for the cause of legalizing cannabis.

Marijuana has been illegal for quite a while now. I think one of the main reasons it is still illegal today is because of our governments inability to effectively tax our herbs. If marijuana was legalized, how the hell would they tax my garden? Products like tobacco are much easier to tax; that is why tobacco is legal. If you smoke tobacco, quit, I did.

How to legalize marijuana? That's a tough one. I personally hope that this prohibition will be lifted as peoples attitude towards gonja change.

The opposition pours billions of $ in their war, they use Government propaganda, They force the states to comply, in fact the U. S. forces much of the world to comply. They use police, judges, informants, detectives, SWAT, dogs, and it keeps on going, YET THEY ARE NOT MAKING ANY GROUND. They could in fact be loosing ground.

That is a win the way I see it. What if we poured in billions of dollars to fight the prohibition? It is a good thing we don't use the violence the opposition uses, it makes us peacful, while winning.

I have no idea why it is still illegal! Maybe its cuz it makes you trip and get dizzy so its dangerous.....you could die walking down the freggin' street. God put cannabis on this planet for a reason....FOR IT TO GET SMOKED!I dont know how we can fight socioty(sp?)though!
