prohibition qoutes If this is what our Founding Fathers and Ex-Presidents wanted for our country why are the current laws so unfair? Because along with the drug war comes billions of dollars. Not only to the federal government and the DEA but also to the drug dealers who are making billions of dollars every year that goes straight into the pockets of organized crime and terrorist. Now look who's in control of our government, conservatist republican's. they do not want change because they have mastered how to get rich and control a country's government. If there is anything history class in highschool has taught me it is that the united states of america does not "just change" you must make it change. Think about how we won our independence in the first place. Fighting a war because of unjust governing. Then their's the civil war, the civil rights movenment, prohibition of alcohol, all these events were groups of people who wanted change in the government and they fought for it. Well i think its time we fought for it also, i encourage every member to write their states governer and all elected state officals. You can go to http://www.congress.org/ to find out how to contact them. I would also suggest reading the book the emperer wears no clothes by Jack Herer which can be found in full, without pictures at his website jackherer.com and find some interesting points that you think are important and start spreading the word. I know you may think "this wont help" but if every stoner got 1 stoner to write their state's governer, i think he would have to listen. Also on my website you will find some good links to the many ways hemp could be used to save are planet and help the US/world Economy. Peace out gratefulhippy

"Nothing changes if nothing changes." Seems obvious, but yep, you have to MAKE things change in order for change to happen. If the prohibtion quotes page you linked to is yours to maintain, I'll suggest you reformat it so people don't have to scroll left and right to read it. That makes it extremely difficult to read and I generally dismiss pages like that because it's not worth the hassle.

GO GO GO! My bet is that to make change, we need to start using research and consider pushing for decriminilazation instead of legalization. It wouldn't hurt to get some slick lobbyists to push. Harvard and Yale type of person. In decriminilization, the government can make tax dollars without controlling the potency. Legalization allows the gov to get in the bud buis and then we're buying illegal weed bc of its potency. Just a thought.

But with decrim, stoners would get fined more often. As it is, cases are more likely to be thrown out because some judges/cops dont think all the paperwork/court time is worth a little pot.

| Freedom isnt taken away all at once; it is removed ever so slightly. The same applies to regaining freedom. Things only happen in small steps. Expecting marijuana to become 100% legal overnight is not something that happens in this country.
