| I voted for Canada because of the law of probability....I think that they will legalize it first. But I also see a scenario like what happened in Mexico about two years ago. Mexico legalized personal use of drugs, and Bush went down to talk with Fox and convinced him not to sign the bill. I think that US pressure will stop legalization in it's tracks. I don't think that Canada will do it until America is ready for our neighbor to legalize any "demon drug." I think canada is ready for legalization, but it would be folly to try at the moment.

| If Canada were to legalize marijuana before the USA, it would destroy the Canadian economy. We're Canada's primary international trading partner. Legalizing marijuana would slow the flow of goods at the border to a mere trickle of what it is today. Every vehicle coming out of Canada would be stripped down to its last nut and bolt to make sure it wasn't carrying contraband. Any country that trades a lot with the United States would have a hard time legalizing marijuana for the same reason. The US started the world on this prohibitionary path and the US will have to lead the world off of it. Meanwhile, marijuana will remain technically illegal in most places, but the enforcement of the laws will become more and more lax, at least in Canada and most of Europe.

| As long as the Conservative Government is in power and Harper has his head stuck up Bush's ass it will remain status quo but I do believe that both will be leaving power in the very near future so who knows what will happen. I believe that the courts will make it LEGAL long before the politicians do Take Care and Peace Marco Renda Federal Exemptee Publisher & Editor in Chief Treating Yourself The Alternative Medicine Journal |

| You attribute much more power to the American Presidency than it actually has. The President doesn't make the laws. That's the province of Congress. An "outsider" President without a lot of political connections has a hell of a time getting any of his agenda carried out by Congress. Think of Jimmy Carter... Ron Paul would be in an even worse position. |
