USA because Canada will never risk pissing off Big Brother. Our Liberals make it look like they will, but only when they know it can't go through. Our Tories would rather see people die than have legal drugs. If the US does it, then eventually our (Canada's) government will follow suite.

Unfortunately, if either of these countries ended up legalizing cannabis it would be Canada. Damn up-tight U.S. of A

Well, being from Canada, I have to say I hope for Canada. But, even though Marijuana in general is largely decriminalized here, I dont think that it will be legalized here first. Now hear me out on this. As I said, Marijuana is largely decriminalized here. Since it is, and the attitude in general, at least in Winnipeg,MB, is that "Hell, its pretty much legal". The reality is, nobody, at least from what I have seen, makes much of a big deal about legalization. I mean, dont get me wrong, we have a lot of protestors come 420, but 420 in general, is seen by most of us here, as a big party, the only day where Marijuana is legal. They dont see it as a protest, as a goal, to get it so Marijuana is legal all day every day. In the US, where it is stricter, there is more people willing to go out of their way for legalization, because, lets face it, a felony for simple possession in some states? That is way, way too much, of a penalty. Especially since Marijuana, is not very harmful, if at all, and it doesnt hurt anybody. I think that the US will legalize first, if not because of the fact that more people make a bigger deal about it, but the fact that there is a new election. Once Obama is elected, if he is, he will want to be re-elected, and since he will not be losing any funds in his second term for being pro-legalization, he may just legalize it. Then I think Canada, will see how much stronger the US's economy is becoming from the extra tax dollars, and will follow. At least I hope... ![]()

It seems like it would only be a matter of time for Canada since it is virtually legal here anyways, at least in every part of it I've been too. Here in Montreal every Sunday afternoon you can go to Mount Royal and people are all gathered together smoking, drumming and playing frisbee and cops just make sure certain areas don't get too crowded and have first aid standing by incase anyone gets hurt.

Do that in America. And you will be praying you can make bail. As I said before, in 2 years if things don't look better here. I'll be moving to Canada or Amsterdam.

Unfortunately, I don't think the US will ever legalize it ... I don't know about Canada. It is funny, we sat here and figured it out one night, If the US legalized it, regulated and taxed it like cigs we would be out of national debt within 7 years... You talk about a change in our economy... CRAZY. If our government got smart thats what they would do. lol
