Default Who's going to legalize it? Canada or the USA?

I curious as to what country everyone thinks is more likely to legalize cannabis first: Canada or the USA

Peace

Unhappy

If anyone in North America will leglize MJ it will be Canada. They seem to have more organization among the folk. Also, some members of their government actually have the sense to weigh the issue in a broad social context. Anyone who lives in the States knows we have an uphill battle.

Ummmm, kinda of a no brainer in my opinion. Canada is already leaning towards softer laws, with it almost seeming legal in some parts like Vancouver. Where as the US seems to be doing the exact opposite, and are even putting pressure on Canada not to soften the laws.

It was hard to choose between "Canada" and "Neither will legalize", but I decided to go with optimism in the end and choose the former.

F'in a. Canada.
You think the US will give up its drug war -- "most profitable, I say."

Don't get me wrong - I feel the same way too, it's a no brainer.

And until I saw this posted here, I thought that everyone felt the same way:

nice post, in regards i think the usa will legalize marijuana before canada does. for this reason i say that its becouse of conservatives in office. that generation is sadly(i say sad becouse i feel bad for people who die, its always sad) going to die off. dont flame this is my oppinion
That made me curious if there are others out there who also think that the USA will legalize first.

What would be great, is if people posted explanations for their votes. Especially those who choose the USA (being the minority vote here).

I'd imagine most people who choose Canada would be for reasons already listed - the fact that we are already moving in that direction.

Thanks

In my opinion, to get pot legalized again, somehow find a way to use the newspapers, that was used to reverse the legalization of pot and get it banned in the first place. Someone should start typing up arguements that go against what they said about pot over the years. Hearst used his editorials to change peoples minds, i say give it right back! Lot of people on here have many reasons why prohibition doesn't work as well as been able to argue every negative thing said about marijuana use. If you could start publishing articles in big newspapers it would be a step toward legalizing.

thats exactly what i was thinking the best way to get your point out to the right wing conservatives (no disrepect) is to put it on paper backed by cold hard scientific facts
but who do i think will legalize it first canada because most people are still under the "reefer madness" spell

As long as Bush is president, we probly wont even hear anything good about marijuana. Canada is definatley the better choice. I just moved to the US 5 years ago, and from my experiance in good ol' canada, I say it will be legal there first.
