Cool Legalization and You!

Where do we stand on legalization?

I feel we are so close now we can taste it. I think the government has realized that they have lost the war on herb and are finally backing down from their stance of no herb nowhere.

Soon we will have street cafes in this country, just like the Dam, selling the sweet cheeba to quench the needs of herbalists everywhere.

How much longer must we wait tho? 2 years? Three? Ten? Are we really seeing the end, or are we seeing a different approach to the longest war in this country's history?

Could that be the reason for the DEA's recent step-up of it's campaign against the prescription drug diversion problem? That they know marijuana is becoming a non-issue?

We can only hope, huh?

Where did you get that impression? Drug Czar Walters recently declared that marijuana is the most dangerous drug in America. The feds haven't loosened up anywhere. The states haven't gone beyond limited decrim and medical marijuana. The legalization initiatives in Colorado and Nevada didn't come from the legislatures of those states - they were put on the ballots because activists recruited enough signatures to force the issue.

We'll wait until marijuana consumers get their asses off their couches, speak out, and join and contribute to the organizations that are attempting to educate the public and lobby our legislators.

At present, around 0.25% of marijuana users have joined or contributed to the three major pro-legalization organizations. Altogether, they operate on a budget of $12 - $16 million a year, most of which is contributed by a few billionaire supporters. That’s all they have to use in an effort to both educate a nation of 300,000,000 and to lobby federal and state legislators.

If users contributed 1% of what they spend on weed and accessories, these organizations would have $400,000,000 to spend annually in the effort. We're working against the ONDCP which spends $120,000,000 a year on anti-pot TV ads and the pharmaceutical industry which distributes millions to our representatives campaign chests.

If you really want to make a difference, join and, above all, financially support, NORML, MPP, and DPA. If you're concerned about exposure (which is not a real problem), send a money order in an envelope without your return address.

National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML)

Marijuana Policy Project (MPP)

Drug Policy Alliance (DPA)

Marijuana is still the DEA's primary focus. Because it's the most-used illegal drug in America, it's the easiest target, the easiest to find, and it makes for the flashy huge busts that make the public believe that the DEA is actually doing something productive with the billions of dollars allocated to their efforts.

i dont think we're making progress. Id say itll take at least another 15 years unless some cultural revolution happens like in the 60s or a political one for democratic socialists who will probably legalize it.

Oh yeah guys, i killed a few thousand kittens already so support the cause or ill shoot this one and kill even faster.

Cool To answer your question buzz.............

government has cut local funding to law enforcement by sixty percent in the last 3 years. thats a big cut.

Hemp will be legal to grow soon; I think it's obvious unless we see big changes........big changes.....
