i think if someone wants to use a drug, who am i to stop them? they make the decision to do it, not me. if we ended prohibition the prices would drop, dealing could stop, and consequences could be addressed instead of created.

Marijuana should be the only "drug" legalized, because it's the best, and can't hurt you.

Apparently you haven't done your homework because marijuana is worse than cigarettes. The only thing bad about cigarettes is that you smoke more than marijuana. But if you were to smoke mj like a cig then you would have more of a chance to have heart disease and lung cancer and all that other good stuff we all like to have and it also depends on your body as well. Dod you know the smoking or ingesting mj lowers your white blood cell count therefore making have a greater chance at getting those diseases.

You have any documentation to back up any of those statements?

Would love to see it documented with urls...otherwise it will be assumed that it is simply opinion.

So we'll be looking for that documentation and until then...

Well everything is an opinion and I guess it was wrong for me to post that being the reason I have read the other way around. That is why you can not figure out what is wrong with mj cause there are so many researches done on it that contrdict others. It is what you want to believe but I will try to find the page that says that. Give me awhile.

Several, in fact many other people shared my opinion with this. Some wrote long lists of good reasons and for that I applaud you. I'm glad to see so many people with common sense.

If we ended completely prohibition the black market would disappear, along with it people won't get stabbed while trying to buy an illegal drug, wether it be pot or not. People will walk into their local drugstore and purchase it for a reasonable price and not be made a criminal because they choose one drug over another. Drug smuggling will no longer pay enough because they cannot sell the drugs for outragous prices on the black market. Terrorism funded by the selling of illegal drugs will cease to exist.
All the non-violent drug offenders will be released from prison saving us billions. We will actually have room for real criminals, those causing harm to others, the rapists, murderers, and child molestors. If seeing joe blow snort a line in front of a police station is a consequence from legalization I don't mind. Maybe there will be more access to drugs and in somebodies mind they think that would lead to more addiction and then lead to stealing to pay for their habbits. Well that ****s happening already, the difference is the cop that would otherwise see it happening is busting some guy smoking his pipe at the park because of our frivilous war on drugs.

Regardless that I want complete drug legalization, I support marijuana legalization more then any other drug due to many medical uses and its high level of safety and lack of physical addictive properties.

This is a great topic, and so I'd like to add my two pence.

I believe that all drugs should be legalised. Except for heroin and crack, which should remain illegal, except available on prescription.

My reasoning for this. Taking the history of my country (England), heroin was available on prescription for I believe two decades or so. The amount of addicts gradually went down and further down because giving people free heroin freed them of the burden of heroin; that is, most, but not all, heroin addicts would sell heroin in order to buy their own. Giving out free heroin eliminated the pyramid selling structure that has now made heroin so "popular" throughout the UK since it was re-illigitimised by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973. Therefore I believe heroin should be re-legalised on prescription, and possibly crack as well, as it is without a doubt a highly addictive substance. Hopefully the same thing would happen with crack as happened when heroin was on prescription.

I've know people who have taken hard drugs, but for the most part, they had high paying jobs and could afford to maintain their habits. I've known these people for years, and they've successfully maintained their habits for as long as I have known them. They don't seem any different to me than any other person; of course, except for right after they've taken the coccaine, but a few minutes after that they are back to normal. It's because of this that I believe even coccaine should be legalised - although somehow restricted to only those who's income made it financially possible to maintain their habits. I have absolutely no idea how this would be enforced, but I think it would be the best route to take, much better than making coccaine outright illegal.

Cannabis, as much as I love it, should not be legalised; it should be decriminalised. Why? If it were to be legalised, we'd be buying this sacred herb off of multi-national corporations who, for all we know, could put it actual-addictive substances in order to make us buy more of their product (think tobacco and nicotine). Plus, if its decrminalised, at least under English law, it wouldn't be taxable, and so extortionate, oppressive taxes from reefer mad politicians wouldn't be a fear of John Dope Smoker.

All other drugs - amphetamines, methamphetamines - should also be legalised, but rather than being sold like alcohol, they should be sold as medicine, in medicinal containers. No, i don't mean they should be available on prescription, I mean that they should be sold as medicine with the same warnings of side effects of normal medicines as I believe this might actually discourage people using them; whereas, they took a drug that had a pretty design stamped on it and made them feel weird, they would now be looking at a substance through a light-reducing orange medicine bottle, with a big warning label across all sides warning that the product has the potential to cause death. I know that if I bought cannabis in, say, a tincture, I would be less inclined to use it recreationally, and more likely to use it medicinially, than if I bought it in a little plastic baggy off of a shady dealer who told me "it's good sh*t".

Just my two pence though, please, mods, don't get angry at me for mentioning off topic drugs, I believe it was neccesary to do so in order to get the gist out of my post.

Peace, and when the clock reaches 4:20,

What is up with people and being against heroin and crack?
I'm sure that brainwashed crack-smokers and heroin-shooters
would make the same argument against weed...

Also, we shouldn't forget that Heroin (the unadulterated
substance) was invented by the good folks at Bayer
Pharmaceuticals.

edit: I see lots of propaganda in these posts about the harder drugs.
