| I can assure everyone of the following. All three political parties in Canada have now agreed [behind the scenes for now] that legalization IS definately going to happen in Canada. They are aware of the fiece opposition they face from america but are prepared for that eventuality. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!! Definately!!! You heard it here. |

| Earlier this year a very well respected and well-liked local politician passed away. He was well liked even by those of other political parties. Several heavy-duty Canadian politicians were in town for the funeral including the soon to be Liberal leader and likely next prime minister, and several other high-ranking officials. Federal jets at the airport and tons of security everywhere. Politicians from all parties across Canada were here to pay their respects. Now I want to be careful here but during that time my friend of 30 plus years, a long time liberal party member, and very well connected political operative, was in the company of some of the people attending the funeral and was told that " All the parties have agreed that legalization of marijuana is going to happen." They know the American government will flip, but it is right for Canada. They realize that for a while the boarder-crossing thing might tighten but it already has anyway after 9/11. My friend is totally credible and would never trade in that kind of information unless he heard it and believed it. I'm not sure he wanted me to mention it either but it is such welcome news. P.S. Americans should understand that Canadians in general including the government make a distinction between marijuana and other drugs. Survey after survey shows Canadians overwhelmingly want it decriminalized. Operators of large grow operations are getting conditional sentences or small fines or a few months even now.Possessions of small personal amounts are not even prosecuted up here now. If the sceptics need any more proof I can't tell you any more than that. A proud Canadian!!! |

| As a US citizen and lifelong resident of a border state, I must confess to my chagrin that I've not ever been up for a visit. (And btw, if we really are 'Children of a common mother' how come we ended up with all the uptightness genes?) But lemme tell ya, if this is true, and some variant of the coffee shop scene appears just hours from my home, well, color me a narco-tourist! I've been meaning to check out a Canucks game anyways. -LM |

| YAY! I can't wait to see if it happens. If it does though, I would probably still buy it from a dealer though because 1) I'm still underage and 2) Companies would probably put nicotine or something in it to get you addicted |

| Welcome to marijuana.com ThreeGreen. I was wondering... The name of the local politician whos quietus occurred? Which party was he a member of? When did he die? Also, credibility is everything, and I'm hoping to believe you, but I'm not quite sure. Possibly because it sounds simply too good to be true. ![]() And on a couple things which you stated - 1. "Possessions of small personal amounts are not even prosecuted up here now." -> That usually depends on where the LEOs and Judges which one has to deal with stand on the issue, I find. 2. "Operators of large grow operations are getting conditional sentences or small fines or a few months even now." -> ...Oh?! I dont know about that. I highly doubt someone with a "large grow operation" would merely get a small fine or conditional sentence. Again, that would depend on where the Judge/Officials which one has to deal with stand on the issue, I suppose. But they would not let a large grow operation harvesting large quantities of marijuana, in all likelyhood for dealing, off with a little fine/conditional sentence. -> Remember, there are many problems in Canada regarding even Medical Marijuana, which was supposed to be ok for patients to grow/smoke a long time ago... (local law enforcement in Toronto raided and shut down a building where medical marijuana patients would come to smoke and discuss issues surrounding their illnesses/their medicine/their lives only a couple months ago.) -> Also, many patients who grow their own medical marijuana are still being arrested/fighting in court to not go to prison over something which is supposed to be considered a legitimate medicine for their very ill selves. -> If this happens to people who have, by law, a permit to grow marijuana for medicine (a permit which they show to police as their homes are being raided for the 4th (pick a number) time) and the police still continue to cuff them and take them to jail (possibly because it is simply the cop's beliefs that it isnt really a medicine and its all B.S., lol, the ignorance)... ...then I do not believe that a person who is truly growing it illegally, for non-medical use, in large quantity, would get away with simply a small fine or conditional discharge, etc. However... If this information which you have provided regarding marijuana's legalization is truly fact and not fallacy then I'm going to have to go change my underpants from being so happy. ...Just saying I disagree with a couple things which were said about the relaxed view the law has on it. For the most part, as the law stands to this day, (sadly) many people are being charged with growing/possession every day. ...But dont get me wrong, Im ecstatic about this mindblowing inside news, which I'll be praying is true. Peace. Welcome. ![]() | |

| Sup guys I just found these forums while searching around on the net for my marijuana essay i need to write for social. I think that I would rather have the government decriminalize marijuana (possession under 30 grams) than legalize it Anyways i got some **** to attend to, so peace. ~~~PhattyGram~~~ | |
