| With all the judges throwing out petty cases of simple possesion and now saying there is nowhere written saying it is illegal to posses small amounts of marijuana, the battle over marijuana prohibition is finally coming to an end in this great country. Lets hope this is finally a big WAKE-UP call to the Bush administration saying marijuana prohibition dosnt work and Canada has figured out they cant stop people from smoking pot on there own time to relax and enjoy it, and realise it dosnt hurt anyone else to do this. its your own body, the government dosnt have claim over it you can do to it what you see fit and if smoking pot is something you do, you dont have to worry about being a so called "criminal" for trying to relax after a hard days work at the office. Peace smokin'

| Well said, but forget ye not: there is still a lot of work to be done on the legalization front. Dana Larsen said recently on his show on Pot-TV.net that he saw more advances in 2002 than ever before, but also more arrests and more setbacks than ever before. There have been a few stumbles in the right direction for the courts in Ontario recently - that looks like it's getting bigger and bigger, and I'm hopeful for change. We also have some great Canadian lawyers on our side, too. I'm still skeptical legalization will come in the next year, but it's only a matter of time. Let the weed be free! |

| we are not quite there yet. They havent introduced legislation saying that it is decriminalized or legal. The only place that had a case thrown out was ontario and the crown is appealing it. There is already a thread on this topic BTW http://www.canada.com/search/story.a...e-301f36fbd17b I REALLY HOPE THEY GET HE LAW RIGHT THIS TIME

| bush just doesnt want marijuana legal cause it makes people not care if they use it too much. it kills their motivation. so bush prolly htinks it will kill the economy, even though most people are moderatly responsible with it.

| Well, since George Bush is known to have snorted a fair shake of cocaine, I'd say the odds are pretty good that he's woofed a joint or two as well. He just ain't talking about it. |

| I doubt, though support, that legalization or decriminalization will actually happen in Canada. Cauchon is a sack of crud, he timed his comments perfectly, after he said go ahead with decrim, the Supreme Court stalled a case that would have denounced prohibition as unconstitutional. If prohibition does come about, I doubt the government will have much to do with it, unless they see it coming and jump on the bandwagon for better public relations.

| i watch, and pray, and wrtite letters to gov, and I sign petitions and I march, and I put my money up when I can, and I know thousands are doing the same thing. By the very strength of our numbers, and our ability to keep the pressure on without too many outbursts involving th police arresting crippled people, sick people, those who are striving to legally access what the feds have said we can have, for medical need at this time, we will win. Never give up, bevcause we are on the side of the right and the righteous. Enough of having every pleasant thing kept away from all who cannot pay big bucks for exclusive housing, top lawyers, faster cars, or whatever, and more, much more of the common man standing up to be heard. But gently, gently, and with erudite letters, common sense arguements, all backed up by valid information , al of which is available at various sites. The studies don't mean too much; they were badly designed, poorly administered and collated in a most infantile manner, never mind their subljects were of dubious character. I we can keep the Judges looking at Mr. Terry Parker and his ilk, readon will prevail. Or maybe I just smoked too much grass in my time. Who knows? To me, it looks like the winds of change are here, slow though the may blow.
