| I read somewhere (probably THIS website) about how Canada's decrim bill was copying the reclassification from Britain; that is, possession is essentially decriminalised, however, this new law DOUBLES the prison sentences for cultivation and dealing. So expect the prices to go UP, proportionatly I don't know, but don't be surprised, get mad! Go complain about the "mixed-message" the bill sends out and demand reduced sentences for cultivation alongside possession....then people can finally cut out the dodgy dealer round the corner. |

| Prices will definitely go up...I can already hear the low rumble of greed rolling over Alberta It truly is sad...if this passes, my little grow (16 square feet) could carry a jail sentance on a first offence. Currently, I probably would only see a holding cell and be released with a couple years probation coming my way. KNOCK ON WOOD Every other grower, commercial or not, will feel that same pinch. Simple laws of supply and demand: If the supply is restricted (IE: fewer growers due to increased sentances, and thus fewer grows), then demand will increase. And when demand increases, so does the value of the product. Unfortunately, prices will almost certainly go up by about $30 - $50 per oz. Demand is going to increase if it passes anyways...more people will indulge a little due to the reduced risk. Here is the official link: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/media...2003_34bk2.htm Why should growing my own bring a possible jail sentance, when smoking it won't? Because Canada's government, like most governments, is short sighted to all hell ![]() C.C.

Canadian Cannabis Laws The reason "home-grown" is no longer synonymous with "schwag" is because of the changes indoor grower's have made to the plant environment. Over the last few decades, we have learned what the near-ideal environment is for MJ cultivation. To paraphrase a genious, "We stand on the shoulders of giants". |

| yes its because they generalize growers. Apparently to them if you grow 2 plants or if you grow 800 it's the same crime. if you look at off topic drugs , the pattern is the same. You will always get a bigger penalty for "producing" the drug than merely consuming it. |
