| Okay, so as a lot of you know, the government is "considering" reclassifying cannabis back to class B. I say "considering" in quotes because they aren't really considering it, they're planning to do it, they just want to make it look like they're considering it. So we have to voice our opinion and show that this isn't in the public interest. There are two ways I know of doing this. Sign the government petition to keep it class C (takes 2 minutes): Petition to: Keep Cannabis classified as a Class C Drug. I know, I know, online petitions are a waste of time and don't change anything. This one's different, the most popular petitions are shown to the prime minister. If we get enough signatures, the prime minister would have to issue a response to it. Respond to a government survey about your opinions on cannabis (takes about 10 minutes): http://surveys.ipsos-or.com/wix/p66924109.aspx This is probably the most effective thing to do. The survey is an absolute sham and all the questions are loaded, but if the majority of responses are "keep it class C, it's harmless," the government may consider keeping it class C. If Gordon Brown knows the public want it to stay class C, he'll also know that the public won't elect him if he upgrades it. This entire thing is ridiculous. The government wants to reclassify cannabis into the same category as methamphetamines. If anything, weed should be downgraded, into the legal category. |
