| i think a big reason to oppose legalization of marijuana is because of 2nd hand smoke. when people drink, then noone around them can smell their liquor and get faded. it could be a problem if a bunch in a crowd were smoking and got the people around them buzzed. maybe it should be legalized ONLY in bars and bud cafes, but not in public like a cigarette. they were hard on cigarettes lately by banning smoking sections in resturaunts. 2nd hand smoke of cigarettes affecting health. 2nd hand smoke of marijuana affects 'mind-fadedness'. gotta remember too that there are some people who completely bug out when on marijuana.. know what i mean. so that should be a good gesture by pot smokers and we could just focus on places where mj is ok to smoke. maybe learning the legalities of a liquor license can help towards the legalities of a marijuana license proposal. alotta of mj opposers would lay off.

| One of the primary reasons why people smoke marijuana is because it is the most effecient, but not the most safe, or effective, method of injestion. When you have the prices as high as they are now, say a hundred bucks for a quarter of KB, you cannot just grind that up and put it in brownies or make leary biscuts with it. You would go through it to quickly, so you smoke it, so you can get some effect without using up much from your stash. In the event that marijuana gets legalized, and the price of good marijuana decreases substantially, which is should with the removal of the black market, it becomes more reasonable, both from a cost and health standpoint, to bake or augment foods with marijuana. There are no toxic carcinogens in eaten marijuana. Marijuana is one of the best sources of a variety of fatty acids, and is very healthy to eat. The high is just an added bonus. I believe, and have maintained, that the laws surrounding alcohol would apply to marijuana just as easily. Such as no public intoxication, no driving, enforcable age restrictions, etc etc. Limiting the consumption of marijuana to coffee shops, humadors, and public grounds may not be unreasonable. Smoking in restraunts, libraries and other places where ciggerette smoking is allowed is still not appropriate, because marijuana does not affect you the same way a ciggerette does. Its effects are much more comparable to alcohol, and that is why I think that the laws surrounding alcohol should be used as a template for marijuana, instead of the laws on ciggerettes. Peace.

| This is similar to the car fumes we are forced to breath in. If I knew that the buds or leaves I bought were well cultured I would use them in cooking. It has a different flavor........ I sense a new product about to enter the market. Immitation marijuana flavor. Id use it on fish... but id use the real thing. The fish oil would absorb the good stuff from the leaves, and it would give it a herbal flavor. With such a wide varitey of diverse marijuana plants with different tastes and flavors it may take awhile to find just the right one for just the right thing. |

| The biggest fault in legalization is: People use marijuana as something to do. When you have a pipe sitting next to you, it can become habit forming. Vitamine C is good for your body, but if you take too much its harmful. |

| I would go for a stipulation in the law that makes it a ticketable offence to smoke marijuana in public. Only for use in the privacy of your own home (with adequate ventilation of course). |

| QUOTE: "People use marijuana as something to do. When you have a pipe sitting next to you, it can become habit forming. | Vitamin C can cause cancer in LARGE doses, hence its bad for you in large quantities. Much like we all agree that if you smoke 20-30 joints a day, thats not really all that healthy. There is that same risk associated with alcohol. For instance my neighbor drinks like a fish when he has access to liquor, but when he has none handy, the urge really isn't there. I still think that marijuana is much less detrimental to health than alcohol, but it is something to keep in mind.

| I say we should legalize, but not commercialize it. Marijuana should be just like any other controlled substance (except not under goverment control, then it would become like tobacco). Too many people believe it will be abused because it's legal (which will it will be in the beginning ) but it should just be like any other mind-altering substance. No driving under the influence, don't go to school or work under the influence and so on. Honestly, it is abused way alot too much. It should be used in moderation like anything else. Society has ruined another gift ![]() Peace ![]() (Edit: Sorry greeman, I didn't read your post completely before posting )

| If you go into a Amsterdamn style cafe, I think you know what your getting into. Legalization won't mean you can smoke everywhere and anywhere, you can't even do that legally with alcohol.
