There was a protest for safe access outside Arnie's LA office today. I believe it was setup for the most part by the ASA. They had some good speakers and the coolest part was when they got Stephanie Landa on the phone form prison to speak to the crowd. They even had a raffle to give away some Volcano Vaps. I didn't win one

. All in all a pretty good protest. No one got out of hand and caused problems, which is always nice. It sucks when the idiots come out and ruin the whole thing by making asses of themselves. It would have been nice if more people showed up but I'm pretty sure we made enough noise for Arnie to hear us on the 16th floor.
BTW this was the first protest I have attended but I don't think it will be my last.

No appearance by the Govenator or his minions this time. I figure there were at least 2 -3 hundred people there with signs and bullhorns. Could have been more but I have a hard time estimating crowds. I always seem to guess on the low side. Plus the ASA folks with their podium and PA system.

Sounds like a success to me. The email ASA sent me was they were looking for hundreds to come, and by your estimation 100's were there. Of course it would always be nice for more to show up, but I really progress is being made as time goes on.

I would like to see all of the medical marijuana initiatives and the Mass. decriminalization measure pass in 2008. That would really breath some momentum into the movement.
