Buster do you live in Nevada. I've been yelling for years that Nevada wouldn't have to worry about Indian gaming if we legalized pot...and maybe liberalized our prostitution a bit.

I live in Nebraska but i get to Vegas as often as I can.Localized gambling is 20 minutes from my house in Council Bluffs, Iowa but I save my luck for trips to Vegas. Why didn't legal weed win in the Veaga election? Did norml have a strong presence lobbying for the repeal of pot laws in Nevada?

Not NORML per se...as NORML is a lobbying arm ... but a Politacal Action Committee was created (a PAC) that was very thorough.

One of the individuals who contributed a lot of money is the owner of Pheonix Online University

The MPP Marijuana Policy Project is the "new" action arm of the marijuana legalization movement. Do a search on Google and you should come up with their location.

Of interest now is the legal battle against the Drug Czar....did he use his position as a politcian to decry the will of the people in the Nevada initiative? Read and be dazzled or damned...the story is interesting and all the crap you learned in AMerican Governemnt class starts to make sense -- separation of powers and checks and balances...How cool is that...H.S. really did teacdh you something useful!

Hugz,

Walters is completely protected from Nevada's laws. Trust me, we can whine about it, the state can whine, but they won't win in court.

Some states have decriminalized marijuana already?! Wow, I feel stupid. When did this happen, and what states are they? I'm moving!

OK then
Now we get to the problem
how can anyone expect a volunteer, part time person to devote the time and passion required to change something like drug law ?
I love the fact that people in this forum are bright and willing to think out of the box.
Check out what the cato instatute thinks on drug law reform

Oh, just because it's nonprofit doesn't mean they don't get paid.
