i was thinking up one of those "what if" situations the other day...and came up with...what if every single pot smoker in the US abstaine from pot to gain legalization...could you do it?

if everyone abstained from smoking, buying, selling pot all those on the opposing side who stand to benefit from profition would greatly loose any if not all arguements against the war on drugs against pot not to mention lost revenue from all the pot seizures and such...if an entire culture of pot smokers could abstain it would make a very large impact...people could set up piss testing sites and stuff...

it's very hypothetical, but not impossible...so could you abstain to a part of a movement like this..?

sorry if something like this has been posted before or if you think this belongs in legalization...i think it's more thought provoking myself though...anywho thats it

I don't think this would work even though it's an interesting thought. Even if it is possible, then all the Government would say is they have finally achieved their goal of keeping people from smoking weed and celebrate their victory. Look at the patterns of the drug war. Funding has been increasing since the "war on drugs" was initiated by Nixon. Whenever drug use goes up politicans argue that not enough spending is being put on the war on drugs and whenever use goes down they say that what they're doing is working and that more keeping up the funding will keep use down.

HAHA!! The gov. would be shocked!!! LoL! Then J. Walters would take all of the credit, even though he knows that he can't do jack $hit about peoples personal decisions. One day this gov. wont be so corrupted... I think Canada definitely has taken a big step towards promoting legalization/decrim. in the U.S. as well.

I'm 99.999999999% there's no way that would work, however, I could do it. Weed isn't a huge part of my life. Don't get me wrong, I enojy the heb as much as any other stoner, however, if cannabis was totally wiped from the earth I wouldn't cry over it. I'd miss it, but it wouldn't be a huge deal.

Hmm, actually i had this idea a long time ago when getting pot legal was my first priority. Its a good idea, if you arent smoking pot you have nothing to stop you from going out and speaking about it. Its worth a shot.

A well organised protest would be nice.Any thing. How about a boycott of soft drinks. Would that hurt Coke or Pepsi? I can switch to iced tea for a while. Finally our numbers will be found out. Then we will be taken serious by a political party. Then the change in law will happen. If it wasn't for my smoking I would be a law abiding citizen in good standing. I don't want to be a outlaw any more.

The revenues from flavored water products in the US would blow you away
