in november, in my school, there was a big drug bust. it involved one of my best friends. in october, some freshman asked my friend if he could get him some weed. my friend then supplied the MJ, (around 100 dollars worth). the kid then proceeded to ask every kid in the grade if they wanted any. one day our school went in lockdown. the cops found weed on about a dozen freshmen. the kid had gotten caught because he was waving it around and a teacher saw it. (dumba$$!!) he then told the cops everything he knew. i mean everything. now where this involves me. in october i had about 12 grams that i had just to smoke for myself. a girl asked me if she could buy a dime. i was like yeah i guess. in retrospect, very baddddd idea. so we planned to meet outside of school one day and exchange. she then discovered that she did not have enough money to buy it, so me and my friend offered her a ride home to get money for the weed and some gas money for my friend. so we did. and i didnt think much about it util late november, when the kid who had got busted told them about me. im not sure how he found out, but he did. so they arrested me, and took me to the trooper barracks. they then gave me the whole bad cop routine but told me if i cooperated i would get a lighter punishment. lies! im now facing a felony count of illegal distribution of marijuana, and a misdemenor of endangering the welfare of a minor. the DA said he would settle for nothing less than jailtime.
jailtime. over a dime.


my attorney said that they were just trying to make an example of me.

Well seems to me like that is a weak case. One kid said that you sold weed so the cops decided to arrest you for it. If you have a good lawyer it seems to me like it could easily get dropped.

What state do you live in?

What proof do they have other than some kid's testimony? I don't think that's enough to arrest you there must be more to the story.

If you sold the weed to some girl and the kid that got arrested said you sold him weed, you can easily get out of that with a good attorney. If what I'm thinking is right, and you've never sold weed to the kid that sold you out, and he's never been with you when you sold weed, then he has no first hand experience of you selling meaning it's hearsay on his part and would be thrown out in court unless he found out from someone (either that girl or your friend) and they testify against you. I'm not a lawyer so I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure that there needs to be first hand experience of the transaction OR it would have to have been told to the kid in an incident of excited utterance. This is all from a high school Mock Trial class so I can't guarantee it to be accurate but it should be somewhat true.

that realy blows man, glad that didnt happen to me, i hooked some friends up with a G once and a couple days later they got caught, they still had some on them but the pigs only found the pipe, thank god they didnt rat on me, and we had a giant bust at my old skool today 4 expelled MANY suspended, dogs went through the parking lot

but if the only evidence on you is a testimony than a decent lawyer will argue that they only wanted to get in less touble so they lied to get in less trouble, and they have no physical evidence on you, in turn bringing about reasonible dout

Did they read you your rights? Was there something about remaining silent?

Did you refuse to exercise that right?

Sometimes they need to have a fuckin' lawyer standing there with a big sign that says....."Shut-up, stupid". Cause that's what he would be saying if he was there........
