It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" | |

| Canada isn't cold! Winnipeg is cold (but that's not really Canada ) I live in the Okanagan (interior area of BC) and it's hot here, I'm talking 40deg C hot, winters are cold, if you think 5 deg C is cold, and we hardly ever get snow, except the mountians, which I love snowbording. I love this nation, so come on US folks, the more the merrier! ![]() What you have to do is get a school Visa and meet some hot Canadian girl and get married! ![]()

| With respect to the "Investor's Program" amount, that's $500,000 Canadian dollars, about $300,000 U.S. dollars - which is a little easier, isn't it? ![]() For those of us fortunate enough to have that to invest, the provincial investments aren't particularly great (not a high return), but may hover around 2 or 3 percent the last I asked. Not a great rate to tie up $250 G U.S. if that's a major portion of what one has available. Then, too, if your purpose is to move there for the legal status, one must be careful. It's legal by default for a few months now, in certain areas, and depending on how satisfied the courts are with the "decrim" laws and "medical provider" programs, that may or may not be struck down again. In either event, if you are caught with any significant infraction, they boot you anyway - and that $250 G u.s. (400G Canadian) you invested isn't returned early in such cases!

| Yeah dude, it's been hot up here lately. Today it was over 30 degrees, but it felt more like 33-34. After I smoked up I skated really really hard. I got hit with a rush of adrenalin as soon as my high began comming down and I was busting out like crazy. Not to mention, sweating like crazy. I was soaked! Ewwww. Luckily my girlfriend wasn't there. And my dad was in the neighbourhood so he gave me a ride home. Canada's pretty lax when it comes to marijuana. But it's not like we smoke up with the police or anything. I don't think I'll ever get arrested or thrown away from smoking weed in public. And I do a fair share or that. Heh.
